Your wine tasting tour will begin with pickup in central Florence. Settle into your seat for a 1-hour drive to the famous wine region of Chianti, and watch the landscape transform from the bustling city streets of Florence to rolling vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees.

Upon arriving, make your way to two wineries to sample the best blends of the region. With the help of your sommelier guide, learn how the Canaiolo and Sangiovese grapes are grown and sip to discover the varying characteristics of each blend. You’ll also have a chance to try a Chianti Classico, a regional favorite made from grapes grown between Florence and Siena. Taste up to six Chianti wines at both cellars, along with top-quality Tuscan olive oils.

Afterward, pause for lunch at a nearby restaurant, indulging in a 3-course, Tuscan lunch. Sample more Italian wines while you eat, as drinks are also included with your meal.

Educational and Beatiful Tour

Overall the tour was great. We learned high level wine making and saw great views of Tuscany. I would do it again if we could have had a few more glasses of wine throughout the tour but that depends on how much each vinyard wants to share with you.

Great tour! Our guide, Veronica, provided many insights that increased our appreciation of Chianti and Super Tuscan wines and of olive oil. Our meal at a picturesque was lovely!

Disappointing

We were really looking forward to our tour but were severely disappointed. Our driver was prompt and the car was comfortable. Our first winery visit owner was very sweet and friendly and did her best but it was clear that we were guinea pigs to test if this was a good spot because our driver/tour guide was taking pictures the entire time as it was her first time there. The entire tour was spent telling us about the winery owner‘s family. The location was beautiful but definitely not as advertised. The second stop was also severely disappointing – it was not really a tour of an olive oil mill operation, it was a closed down warehouse with a bottle of olive oil on a stool for us to take a sip of and the driver popped in a video we could have looked up on you tube. The last winery was completely cut out without telling us and we were just taken to lunch, the lunch was fantastic and the Villa owner where we had lunch was very very welcoming. During lunch our tour guide was taking selfies and drinking wine even though she was supposed to be driving us back.Definitely not worth the money and very disappointing to have an experience like this through Viator . We have used them before and have never received such a miss matched experience. I believe the experience depends on the driver/tour guide and ours was definitely far below expectations. Her name was Veronica.

Our Guide Matt was wonderful and the low season made this more unique as we had the tour just for ourselves... views, food and wine were amazing! Very cordial staff too.

Great option for a half day Tuscany trip

The guides Marta and Claudia were great and explained all the history behind wine and olive oil making clearly. We were a small group of 6 in one van. Everyone was friendly and the wine tasting was amazing. If you are looking for a quick escape from florence into the countryside with lots of wine to drink, this is highly recommended.

A Local outing very near the Florence area.

This tour was the best one we did in the Florence area. The guides met us right where and when we were told they would. The group was SMALL. Only 14 or 15 of us total, with only 7 in our comfortable and clean van. The sites were CLOSE. No more than 30 minutes out of Florence, but far enough out to be in the hills and true country of the area. Our walking was absolutely MINIMAL, which was a real treat for us, considering that some of our other tours involved MILES of walking. The guide was very knowledgeable of all the sites and even participated in some of the talks at the tour sites. The olive farm and olive oil mill was well maintained and had a mix of old and new equipment and operating procedures. That made for an interesting look at the operation. The wine tasting portion of the tour was very well done, with some in a quaint tasting room that was a part of the storage area and another part in what seemed like a bottle storage area. Both settings added to the charm of the small winery location. Super views of the surrounding areas from these hilltop locations. Lastly, the meal was excellent. Served family style. Plenty of GOOD and FRESH cheeses, breads, oils, meats, and other antipasto dishes. The main course was well presented and filing. We were not rushed. We were not in a restaurant that felt over crowded, but rather in what felt like part of a family estate. Great views of the surrounding country side on the SHORT ride to and from the start point in Florence. If you want to see real Italy, and you don't want a lot of driving or walking, then this is the tour for you. We left about 10 AM and returned about 3 PM and were easily able to do the Accademia Gallery that same afternoon.

Our tour guide was great fun, friendly and shard a lot of information on the surrounding area, the wine and olive oil. The wineries, we visited had beautiful scenery and amazing wine. The lunch was a great way to get to know the other guests on the tour.

We had Matteo has our guide...we had such a fabulous time! He was SO well versed and very punctual. Only 8 went on the tour (4 of us) and 2 additional couples. We all bonded very well and although we went on an unusually chilly and overcast day—we were catered to with jackets and hospitality—and AMAZING photo ops! We would ALL highly recommend if you are taking a trip to Florence to ensure you indulge in this vineyard tour!

We went on this tour on our honeymoon and it was only ok....the first winery we went to was amazing and beautiful with great wine. The olive oil farm and second winery were ok but felt very rushed. We tasted wine standing by the door. The saving grace was out good group. We then had dinner which wasn’t all that good honestly. It was an antipasto and penne (not 3 course as advertised) and small plates for 6 adults to share. Again it felt rushed to leave. I wouldn’t recommend this particular tour although our guide was great.
