Escorted Tour: Chianti Winery, Montefioralle, and Greve in Chianti

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip! We had a great guide and a great driver. The drive itself is beautiful- and between the traffic in Florence and the windy roads in Chianti very glad we weren't driving ourselves! We had a brief stop in Montefioralle then about a 40 min stop in Greve. The square isn't too big so just enough time to poke around and taste some wine at an enoteca if you feel like it. We then drove to a beautiful winery to taste 4 great wines with a very knowledgeable host (and got to see the sunset!) and went back to Florence. The only hiccup was that the tour company doesn't have any sort of sign so it was a little confusing to try to figure out exactly who we were meeting- but the meeting point was very accurate. All in all I would highly recommend this tour and am very glad we chose this versus one of the big tour buses.

K. We were contacted to tell us that our half day tour had been canceled and whether we would like a reimbursement or to change it for a full day tour at no additional price. We chose not to cancel as I had researched this and was already in Italy. We later found out that they had tried to cancel the other couples tour but they said no so I guess that is why they gave us the option. I would say that Simon was a very nice person but we had a hard time hearing him in the back seat of the van and my sister went to the front to sit so that she could hear him. We also had a bit of a problem understanding him but that was okay as we could make most of it out when we could hear him. The region and wineries he took us were excellent and were we had lunch, was excellent. I am glad that they offered the change because I would have missed this part of Tuscany if we had done the original half day tour and for that I am thankful even though we missed exploring Florence city. Overall, the tour was very nice and if they don't change people's plans, it would be perfect. It would be nice if they realized that one plans this ahead of time and we cannot change just because they do not have enough people.

We had a wonderful tour with our group of four. Our guide Giacomo was great! The wine tasting at Casa Emma was nice and the Tuscan scenery can't be beat!

My two friends and I were three of the five people on the small tour - but we all piled into a small van. Our guide could not get the microphone to work so he spent the entire hour ride there talking about the history, but none of us heard what he was saying. The wine at the vineyard was good. Unfortunately, the tasting itself occurred in the basement of the building, not on a patio with a view of the gorgeous Tuscan hills. The best views we saw were from the van window, as we spent most of the time in the van...Would not highly recommend this tour.

This was a beautiful and intimate ride through the Tuscan country side. Greve was great and the butcher shop was amazing.. the first winery was beautiful, we were able to get a second one as well. Simon was a great driver and we had a wonderful time!

Very scenic and you go to a great winery. However our guide was so quiet on the ride. You could not hear him talk and he would not speak up. You also don't get any tasting at all until you get to the winery. There are other stops including time your own in Greve where you have to pay if you want wine there.

Unfortunately Simon, a very nice man, was a poor guide. His English was poor, but what was worse was that he spoke so low that no one could hear him at all. Two of us asked him to speak up but he did not do so. we learned nothing about Chianti except for the excellent woman at the winery. Beside the winery and the scenery, the tour was a bust. On the other hand, his driving was very good.

Our tour group was small than expected because part of the tour group was unable to make it, so our tour was just my family and our guide, Giacomo. Giacomo was amazing and very personable. He did a great job telling us about the Chianti region and some of the history of the area as well as answering all of our questions.

Had a lot of fun. Our tour guide had a ton of knowledge and was fun and educational. The vineyard tour was also very cool and tasted a great variety of wines and olive and truffle oils and balsamic vinegars. Would recommend for any looking for half day trip.

We set this up the day before, and it was off season. Guide was nice but did not engage us and provided little information. Our first stop, a wine tour and tasting, was closed. Why did't the guide call ahead? Instead we went to a local butcher shop Falorno and that turned out to be great. We sampled Italian meets and wine. Next step was to Castelio Monterinaldi for wine tasting. Our guide, Beatrice, was outstanding, giving us a great tour of the winery, explaining wine making, and then a nice tasting experience! Out last stop was an evening tour of a small hill top village. Interesting and enjoyable, but the guide did not offer any insights. Overall, I would recommend the tour.
