Meet your guide outside of the Uffizi Gallery, bypassing the long lines of the main entrance with your priority access ticket.

Inside, discover an impressive collection of over 1,500 works of art. Though the art spans from ancient Greece to the 18th century, the museum’s true gems are from the Renaissance era. Your guide will place focus on the Renaissance rooms, which house masterpieces from da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo, and more.

Discover the bright hues, composition and varying interpretations of 'Primavera' and the iconic 'Birth of Venus' as you walk through the Botticelli Room. Continue on with your guide to witness works by Rafael, as well as Michelangelo’s 'Doni Tondo' and da Vinci’s famous 'Annunciation.' Hear the history behind the artists and their great works, as well as the stories of the patrons who made the Uffizi the incredible museum it is today.

Then check out the beauty of the world outside with a stop at the rooftop terrace. Take in gorgeous views of the Ponte Vecchio and Arno River.

Your tour will conclude inside the Uffizi so that you can continue exploring at your own pace, if you wish.

Gallerie Degli Uffizi
One of the world’s oldest art museums, the Uffizi was built by architect Giorgio Vasari in the 16th century to house government offices. It was only later that the building was used to showcase art collected by Florence’s ruling Medici family, and not until 1769 that it was turned into a public museum. The repository of more 1,500 works dating from Greek times to the 18th century, the core of the Uffizi is its unmissable collection of Renaissance art. Your tour concentrates on these, as your guide leads you around the highlights of the Renaissance rooms, home to great works by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and others. Enter the spectacular Botticelli Room and wonder at his The Birth of Venus and Primavera as your guide explains their composition and meaning, and the nature of Botticelli’s genius. Then, continue to see masterpieces such as da Vinci’s breathtaking Annunciation, Michelangelo’s Doni Tondo and works by Rafael.

Frederica was out tour guide for the Uffizi, and she provided a comprehensive historical, social, and political context to the artwork at the Uffizi. She was also able to answer the many questions her group had about other works that were not on the tour. I highly recommend getting a tour.

Great guide and highly informative tour

This tour does not include EVERYTHING to see in the Uffizi, that would take days, but what it did include were highlights and what amounted to a class into the evolution, birth and flowering of the Renaissance. By showing paintings and sculpture in chronological order, it was so much easier to absorb and understand the subtle changes over time. Our guide was deeply versed in the subject matter and explained everything beautifully as we went from gallery to gallery. It was a GREAT tour, which we highly recommend.

I would not recommend this excursion. The directions are vague and the tour company was not helpful in connecting me with the group. A waste of time and money.

The directions from Viator about where to meet the tour guide were good. The tour guide was outstanding in his knowledge and presentation . My only complaint was that the gallery had allowed too many visitors in the rooms and there was some pushing.

The Uffizi is overwhelming when you try to go through it yourself. Finding our guide and getting set up with radios was very easy. We started on time and got in to the gallery without any issues. Angelo Alterio was our guide and he was knowledgeable and thorough. I truly enjoyed this tour and Angelo really added to the delight!

Uffizi can be overwhelming without this tour

Our tour guide Angela Russo did an excellent job of showing us the highlights of the gallery. She was engaging and extremely knowlegable and passionate about the art. If you go there without a guide, the Uffizi can be so overwhelming, and so crowded that you get lost in the maze of the incredible amount of art in that gallery. The only reason I'm giving the tour a 4 star and not a 5, is that the meeting place to begin the tour was not clear in any of the confirmations we received, so our tour started late because of that.
