El Yunque National Park is Puerto Rico’s largest nature reserve and as difficult to explore independently as any other tropical rain forest. I was especially touched by the love and care from our guides. To witness our guides John and Miriam be so supportive of my nine year olds reservations at three rock slide and cliff jumping. Their hearts were huge and their assistance and compassion was unparalleled.
Also, the activities within the rainforest that they led were explorative, so much fun and the experience was phantasmagoric to day the least. To meet so many new plants, bird songs and to be immersed in that magic for hours was healing.
I only wish I new we had to provide our own transportation. I didn’t know this and assumed it was a tour bus that took us there. It became quite crunchy and has to cancel my first res. John threw a miracle my way and ended up moving it to a day when I could rent a jeep. It worked out great. But heads up.

Ivan and Anthony begin the tour by calling everyone “familia” and they truly take care of you like family. I highly recommend taking this tour. They don’t just walk you through the trails but they also take the time to stop periodically and give you history insights of El Yunque. 5 stars!

Our family of six booked this guided tour and honestly, I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews, but this tour turned out to be fantastic! I highly recommend this outfit for your tour through El Yunque. Our guide, Francisco, was great. He made sure we were all safe and enjoying our very muddy trek through the rainforest. Best piece of advice I can give is that you invest in hiking boots or shoes. It is VERY muddy- ankle deep in some spots- and very slippery. Good solid shoes are a must. The water you will get to enjoy is absolutely amazing. Pack your bug spray, comfy clothes and best hiking shoes and you will be set for a great day.

The guides were awesome! This hike was much more difficult and dangerous then expected or described. More information prior to would have been helpful like wearing sneakers that you don’t mind getting ruined. I would highly recommend this for younger athletic people not over 40 or children.

This tour was one for the books…would deff recommend to anyone who wants to take a hike through El Yunque! Our tour guides John and Bebo were the BEST! They made this trip very enjoyable. Be prepared for a HIKE though, mud, rocks, dirt, you name it!

We had a great time with Ivan and Anthony. They were the best guides to have at El Yunque. But here are my tips...
1. Wear hiking style sandals (so you can climb up rocks and through lots of mud.) 2. Wear what you want to get wet/jump in the water with. 3. Bring a snack for after the hike (especially if your in the afternoon). 4. The hike is doable but you need to be in some type of good physical condition to get up the rocks and some steep hills. 5. Enjoy every second of it and LIVE in the moment! 6 My teens loved it
These guys will keep you safe and provide an incredible adventure ahead.

I was not able to attend the tour because the detail of NEEDING your own vehicle to participate in the tour. This detail was not detailed or specific enough, and since I agreed to the terms, Viator and the tour provider have repeatedly stated I will not get a refund or even credit. So basically I threw $110 in the trash. These types of crucial details need to be written in bold letters and repeated or something to call people's attention because if the detail is missed by the reader, then you miss the whole experience. I will definitely not use any of these services again.

I don't feel the ads for this excursion are very forthcoming. The hike is challenging, walking through rock bottomed creeks (don't wear water shoes, my feet are still hurting 2-3 days later). There is a pretty steep climb up a slick, muddy hill that will stain whatever you are wearing from your knees to your feet. Several older ladies battled to complete "Part A" of the tour and declined to do an even more challenging "Part B". You really need to be in good (or at least average) physical shape to do this tour. Our teen boys LOVED it and had no trouble at all completing both A and B parts of the tour. We were grateful we didn't have to go back the way we came, our tour guide took us through a private road that costs and additional $2
If your tour guide tells you to leave stuff behind, listen to them! We lost an iWatch because we didn't think our tour guide was right that the watchband would come undone during the 45 foot jump into the water. They were right!
Recommend El Yunque tour! Beautiful! A must do and see.

This was a great experience! Definitely wear clothes over a swimsuit and wear gym shoes if possible. I wore water shoes and wished I hadn’t, you feel rocks through water shoes and once muddy they slip on rocks. Wear clothes and shoes that you don’t mind if they get very very muddy. A bit challenging if you aren’t fit, so keep that in mind. What’s nice is that you are given the option to stay at point A which is still an awesome spot with a natural spring and you can chose to jump into its beautiful clear water or proceed to option B a bit more challenging of a hike and with additional experiences in store. We stayed at point A and still had a wonderful time. Our teenage kids went to point B and absolutely loved it. The whole time our tour guides Papi Chulo and Tarzan were present, concerned for our safety, supportive and with a nice sense of humor. My teenage kids absolutely loved this experience. One of our family vacation highlights!
