Itinerary
Stop At:
Giant's Causeway
After a 45 minute lunch stop at a wonderful coastal cafe we arrive at the Giants Causeway at 2.30pm. Created 60 million years ago due to a series of volcanic eruptions which layered the surrounding area with 40,000 interlocking basaltic rock columns. Set off on the trail to the "Giant's Boot" apparently lost by Finn just over 2 metres large. Can it get any more magical? Take a seat in the famous "Wishing Chair." A must experience, the "Wishing Chair" is a natural throne formed of perfectly shaped columns of basaltic lava. Now the "Camel" the only steed capable of carrying Finn home across long distances. The Camel a basaltic dyke formed from cooling lava which has pushed its way through other layers of rock. The Clifftop Trail is a bird's eye view of the Giant's Causeway, a unique way to see the World Heritage Site and explore the stunning north coast of Ireland over to Scotland. The Causeway has trails for all ages. There is also a free train up and down from the centre to the coast.

Legends behind the Irish Castles

The cliff path to the causeway was beautiful and a travel guide specifically for the Causeway was arranged. It was a historically informative trip that made the experiences memorable.

Great tour & guides

This was a fantastic trip! Connor and Sydney really went put of their way to make sure everyone was looked after and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the black cab tour and learned a lot. The path to giant's Causeway was longer and much steeper than I expected and I couldn't make it all the way down with a bad knee, but it was still absolutely beautiful. Dunluce castle was incredible! But really Sydney and Connor made the whole day great!

City and county side experience

What a great team! We felt very welcomed and well looked after through out the trip. The choice of the places and guides was very well prepared. Just found it difficult for non English speaking people like my sister. It’s a petty there is nothing in place for them. Thank you for this great day!

Titanic Museum and Giant’s Causeway

The Titanic Museum opeed thirty minutes later due to Fall time schedule. So we had to stand in the cold wind for thirty minutes. The tour company should have known open hours. By the time we worked our way to the Titanic exhibition, we were out of time. .If you are interested in the Titanic, skip the second floor because it tells the history of ship building. . I was disappointed that the advertised bridge was close. An abandoned castle was substituted. Again not much time to explore and no explanation given. Giant’s Causeway. Spectacular if you are able to make the long hilly walk. People with problems with knees or back issues should reconsider this walk. Our tour guide told jokes and was personable.

Disappointing Places on this Tour
Patricia_L
, Oct 2021
Conor, the guide, and Sydney, the driver, were great. Very enthusiastic and friendly. Conor gave interesting information about Irish history and the places on the tour, without boring us participants! I really liked the 2-hour video he put on for the last 2 hours of the drive back about Ireland from the 1970s and on. I found the Titanic museum boring. Too much information which focussed more on the technical, industrial aspects than on the human aspect, which would have been interesting. The Giant's Causeway is disappointing as I expected to see it as is shown in great photos taken obviously from an angle far out at sea. Really, it's just a pile of rocks and boulders along the walking paths. 2 hours is too long for the visit. I noticed all my co-passenger/tourists waiting for the bus after an hour or so. Dunluce Castle was fantastic, with breath-taking scenery. And the drive along the coast after the visit was stunning.

Giants causeway.

Good tour but a bit misleading about what you actually get. You have to choose between the Belfast City tour OR the Titanic tour, you don't get both as the itinerary suggests. The Carrick rope bridge was closed when we went which was also disappointing. The Giants causeway was fantastic.

Hello Mark, On Viator you reserved the Titanic Belfast and Giants Causeway tour. You did not book the Northern Ireland Highlights tours which offers the attraction of the Black Cab tour. Why do you say that you thought both attractions in Belfast are included in the itinerary? On no web site, our own or the Viator site does it say it is possible to do both attractions. Why claim that the itinerary is misleading? I'm sorry to have to point out that your review is factually wrong. Never has it ever been possible to do both attractions and no where does it ever state that both attractions are included. The rope bridge is temporaily closed to the public. As an alternative attraction we include Dun Luce Castle. Regards John
