The train travel from Dublin to Killarney
, Jan 2020
We had a wonderful trip from Dublin to Killarney. Our guide Terrence was excellent and went out of the way to give a very informative and detailed overview of the trip & what to expect. He was very friendly and kept us fully engaged for the three plus hours on the train. We were also very satisfied on our return train trip with Paddy who was helpful and engaging. The Ring of Kerry coach tour was a total let down. Our guide was impersonal and not engaging. We were very disappointed.
icon Response from Host , Feb 2020
Hello, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your journey with both Terrence and Paddy, I am delighted to hear that you found them friendly and engaging. They are both wonderful hosts who always make sure everyone has a memorable time on tour. I am very sorry however to hear that your were not totally satisfied with your driver on the Ring of Kerry. Normally we receive very positive feedback regarding our drivers in Kerry so I am quite surprised. The tour to the Ring of Kerry operated as advertised on this day taking in all the usual scenic stops en-route. I have taken on your feedback and will check this out with our local driver in Killarney. Thanks and Kind Regards, Jennifer
nice landscape, awful guide
, Jan 2020
The ring of Kerry is very beautiful and I enjoyed the landscape a lot. However, we didn't have a lot of time to enjoy it for a long time. The bus driver was very nice, but the guide taking us back to Dublin was incredibly rude. I do not know if it was because we are female, young, students or because English is not our mother tongue. One of the very first things he said to me was to watch my grammar. I hand't even talked two sentences with him. He claimed I did not know anything, interrupted us multiple times and was incredibly condescending. (Despite being wrong about a lot of things like calling Proto-Indo-European Pre-Indo-European and claiming Irish and Latin were so similar because they had the same ancestor language.) When we sat away from him after switching trains, we could even hear him talk about us behind our backs with another guest. I have never experienced such a rude treatment on any tour or vactaion I have been on!
Tour replaced and disappointed
, Sep 2019
This tour was cancelled and replaced by a much less desirable tour. I do not recommend the Blarney Castle tour. The attractions were disappointing and the train ride was too long.

Ring of Kerry

The train trip was great smooth and comfortable. Met the bus at Killarney. The bus trip was uncomfortable the driver Ray was not good and I felt anxious the whole time. The sheep dog trial was not advertised as part of the deal and thus we were rushed at some stops. Norman was ok but not great. I loved the scenery.
Very informative

This was a great tour. The guides we had were wonderful. Terrance was an unexpected treat at the beginning of the trip & really took care of us on the way home.

Too much time on a bus!!! Let us walk around somewhere!!
, Jul 2018
The whole tour almost is on the bus. This was the second tour during this week with this Rail Company. It advertised time to spend in places, but it either did not happen, or it was not enough time to do anything.
