Disappointment
Melissa_R
, May 2022
Very disappointing overall. Driver was entertaining but the tour itself was a bust. Spent hours getting to Cong to be told we had to be back at the bus in less than hour. Then took backroads to Galway, dropped off at a bus stop and told what time to get on City Link bus, which was less than 2 hours later, for a ride back to Dublin. We did not get a tour of Galway and not nearly enough time to explore on our own. It was the only reason I booked the trip. The tour bus did not even have wifi.
Paddywagon never fails!

If you don't know the Galway Girl song yet, you will by the end of this tour. What beautiful countryside along the wild atlantic way! And if your tour guide pulls to the side of the road in the middle of nowhere to see who dares run across the rickety bridge, just do it - you will be sad to miss what is on the other side of the hill.

I enjoyed the stop we made in Cong where The Quiet Man was filmed. Such a beautiful little town. Next time I will definitely do the 2 day tour because the stop in Galway was nice but just time for lunch and the a bit of shopping. The music in most pubs doesn't start until evening that that's what Galway is known for. All in all, it was a nice day trip away from Dublin for a bit.

too much riding and too little information about what we were seeing. the village of cong was interesting. enjoyed the impromptu tour by the highway man. too little time in galway. some confusion
about changing buses and spent an hour waiting in the gas station for the 2nd bus to show up to take us to dublin.
Enjoyed the scenery but spent more...

Beautiful scenery, but the weather was cold and rainy...no ones fault, but it made it a little difficult to enjoy a tour that involved being outside most of the time. We did enjoy the village of Cong despite everything being closed as it was not yet tourist season. The time in Galway was enjoyable and my wife and daughter enjoyed shopping there.

Our tour guide was a riot! He kept us entertained with songs of all kinds from local lore. Although the flooding was a bit much in the village of Cong where the Quiet Man was filmed and we were unable to get into Ashford Castle, we got to see much of the gorgeous countryside and shop for a while in Galway. It's a long tour but worth the money we paid. :

We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.

Sorting, ranking, and search results
Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.
On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.
You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted.
If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period.
The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We’re always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
