A breathless hike with a beautiful view!

The elevation is no joke! My dad and I actually took the horses on the way up (best decision we ever made and we’ll worth 60 sols). We hiked the whole way down which was about an hour walk back. TAKE YOUR TIME and go slow. The view was amazing and worth it. Our tour guide was awesome as well which made the experience that much better.

Alfredo was an amazing tour guide! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Make sure you try to adjust to the altitude first!

This was a wonderful experience! We were picked up from our door right on time at 4:10a, and brought to a lovely little restaurant in the mountains for a breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. After breakfast, we hiked up to rainbow mountain. The hike was difficult due to the high elevation but the surrounding landscape was just beautiful! This was our first tour in Cusco and if we were to do it again we’d wait until the end of our trip when we were more adjusted to the altitude. But we made it and the guides were so supportive!

Pickup went great, food for breakfast and lunch was a buffet, large choice of food. Transportation a little tough but besides that everything went well. Little side note ; they don’t drop you at your hotel just at the main square

Amazing hike!

Pick up from my hotel went smooth and was at the time they said. You drive about 1.5 hours then have breakfast which was nice and then drive another 2 hours to get to rainbow mountain. The hike is hard so if you’re not in great shape it will be a challenge when you get to the steep parts, but the views from the top are worth it. Tour guides were great they helped people who got sick from the altitude and even carried their bags for them! Would 10/10 recommend this tour group!

Rainbow mountain tour

The rainbow mountain was as colorful as you see it in the pictures. Due to some local issues that is beyond the control of the tour operator, we had to drive a little longer but hiked shorter. The guide said about an hour but it only took us 35-40 min. It’s an easy walk up if you are acclimatized. The drive is rather long at 3h each way. I would NOT recommend this trip if you get car sick. Otherwise the operation was smooth and well ran. It seems that all of the tour vehicles stopped at the exact same restaurant for breakfast lunch, so don’t spend a ton on this tour - they’re probably all the same.

Amazing feat, challeneging hike, jaw dropping scenery

This was a truly memorable hike!! It actually was the cap of my entire trip. If you only have time to do hike this moutain, and not Machu Picchu, you won't be disappointed. I would recommend everyone to take their time getting to the top, and equally as much, take even more to make your way down and admire the beauty of the surroudning mountains, valleys, alpaca's, etc. Words, nor pictures can do this place justice. Don't allow the negative reviews about the mountain or guides deter you. Invidually, this is an amazing feat at such high altitude. For someone who traisn year-round at non-high altitudes, I found this challenging, but was the first in my group of 8 to reach the summit, given that our guide wanted to go back and help others (which is why I give them so much credit, asd they trek this moutain almost 3-4 times a week).

Arduous walk up the mountain but worth it. Excellent tour and meals! The guide spoke in a nice and clear way in Spanish and English.

This was an AMAZING experience. The views are well worth the hike but be prepared to HATE the last 500 meters up. The oxygen is thin, the horses (60soles) take you as far as they can but it’s still a hike. Tips: bring your passport to get stamped at the top (2soles) They sell corn, llama, and pictures with llamas at the top. Oxygen is only provided in case of emergency Bring small bills or change to buy water or snacks along the way or to use the restrooms. Wear layers as it can get cold but also hot from all the hiking This hike is not easy, take the horse if you have any doubts, they’re available both ways. The guide was great but this is primarily an independent hike. As our guide said. Attitude over altitude!

Dear: 663kasiak The rainbow mountain hike is challenging, that is true, but definitly it worths, The views are amazing. If you feel that the hike is very hard, there is the option to rent horses, even that we do not rent them as a company, our guides can help to find a good horse for you, the price is 60 soles one way and 90 soles a round trip, about the attitude, yes, there is very important. While you hike, you have to Know that at the end you will have one of the most amazing views of the world !. HOpe to see you again some day. Your Team from "Rainbow Mountain Cusco" & "Andina Expeditions" The Original Local tour operators to the rainbow Mountain since 2014.

We enjoyed the track and the sites but the guides and tour organizer was bad and I would never recommend them to any one.
