Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba Guided Tour

Olivia was so helpful in explaining the complex history of this truly one-of-a-kind place. We would have missed out on all of the history without her, and are so glad to have booked this tour. It was perfect - and also loved by our 12 and 10 year old sons. We highly recommend!

What a great experience. Our guide was communicative and deeply knowledgeable about the complicated yet wonderful history of the masque/cathedral. We learned so much and we left in awe of just the amount of human history we were standing upon and within. Unless you already have a art/history major you likely need this tour create the hooks to contextualize just how significant this place is.

We had Anna as our guide she was very knowledgeable and explained in every details including Spanish history and other monuments within Spain. Extremely good English too, highly recommended. The Mosque - Cathedral itself is a gem the best place I have been so far and it’s history is mind blowing compare to other monument in Barcelona and around the country.

The guide was punctual and ver knowledgeable. What I didn’t like is the way she was narrating, no storytelling skills it seemed like she was bored.

An excellent tour through La Mezquita. Olivia was very informative and spiced the tour with a sense of humour.

This is likely a personal preference, but the tour could have had more explanation about the things we were seeing. There were often periods of silence. Given that there is so much to see, I doubt the guide lacked for content (to be clear, whenever the guide was asked a question, she was very knowledgeable). Overall, we felt the tour was worth the price (and the mosque is incredible).

When visiting Cordoba, this is a must to be done. not just walk around but get the tour. Learning the history of this magnificent building was a highlight of our holiday. The tour guide was very informative and did not rush through it. From learning about the design of the Mosque-Cathedral and why things were done the way they were was very exciting to learn. Personally, i would recommend doing the tour of the Mosque-Cathedral and then do the tour of Madinat-Al Zahra.

The Mosque at Cordoba is breathtaking and worth the time to see and experience. I'm sooo glad we included it on our trip. The Guide was friendly although appeared rushed. I'm presuming it was due to the time restraints of the Mosque closing time which was at 7pm....the time our tour ended. Our tour was 5pm-7pm. With this in mind you may wish to book an earlier tour so you have time to absorb the experience and not be rushed. And the tour could have been much longer. It was really only a very surface look at the history of the building and there's sooooo much history there. If you love history and very unique architecture you'll be fascinated. Most disappointing though is that this tour promised 'food tasting and snacks' for which at the end of the tour we were given a coupon to use for an appetizer at a nearby cafe. We're not sure what they meant by 'food tasting', but an appetizer would be fine. It's different than presumed but fine nevertheless, because the tour ended at 7pm and we were hungry so a good time for supper. We slowly wandered over to the restaurant, taking in some of the other sites along the way, arriving there about 7:30pm. We were in no pleasant language rudely told that our coupon was not good until 9pm, and to look more carefully at the fine print. Indeed we had not read the coupon. It clearly states that appetizers are available 9pm-11pm and they would not make an exception, EVEN if we ordered a meal, they would not give us the appetizer until 9pm. Needless to say we left and got our food elsewhere. While I can't say this is false advertising on behalf of Viator or the guide, after all they did give us a coupon for an appetizer, it's most certainly incomplete information. I guess they believe that 'food tasting and snacks' means giving us an appetizer. It should have been stated upfront that 'food tasting and snacks' means an appetizer was at a nearby restaurant and redeemable only after 9pm.
