A great day on the water for a good price.

Your employees were stellar. Melony and her crew were great. Rafi took us on a leisurely tour of the reef and I was happy that Melony went there first so it wasn't so crowded. Good planning on her part. The party island was a bit much but I understand that the trip must accommodate all tourists. It was fun to see but Sooo many people is such a small space with COVID 19 around made me uncomfortable. We stayed in the shade and were fine with just 1 hour there. Lunch was not handled well by the restaurant. I'm sure they were informed of our arrival but they were N O T prepared. Melony did her best but they really don't know how to accomodate a large group. Over all a lovely day for a good price. I enjoyed myself. -- - the race back to the city was a hoot!!! It was a great ride! LOL

Our tour guide, Jesus, was amazing! We had 3 stops on the tour, including snorkeling.. and all were fabulous. Recommend highly!! Matt y Cata❤

I'll start by saying you're better off waiting to get to Cartagena to book an island hopping tour for cheaper and potentially better service and destinations. Now for this specific experience. It was good but not great. First, the boat was late arriving to the pick up location and there was no guide or sign to know where to meet up so I constantly had to ask different people if they were the correct group. Now Backpackers did try calling me a few times after the initial meet up time had passed but I didn't have service in the country and wasn't going to pay a premium for their lack of planning. Once the boat arrived, the trip itself was good and our guide spoke English well and made sure we understood what things were a part of our package and what things cost extra (very important to know as you visit the different islands!) She was friendly and professional and the captians were also good. Where things got shady was when we got to the final destination of Playa Blanca. This is where you get lunch and spend the most amount of time. Now lunch is listed as free but really you have a credit limit and can get only a few items on the menu. Everything else costs extra and you pay for out of pocket...Next is the bathroom situation. On Playa Blanca the bathrooms are pretty much a nice out house with no running water and using buckets to flush and was your hands after. Not a big deal sone might say but would definitely walk with sanitizer and soap! Now the other frustrating thing with Playa del Blanca are the vendors. Even though you are on a "private area" of the beach reserved just for patrons of Backpackers the vendors are still able to come in where you are eating and resting and they really hound you hear. You'll have to get really firm with them when necessary and don't expect anyone from the tour company to help you. Now I understand that this is how vendors make a living but there should seriously be limits to how much they are able to persist. The last issue I had is a personal one and has to do with when it was time to leave Playa Blanca. During our departure, I remembered that I had left a tank top of mine hanging on a wooden fence in the back of the reserved area where I was sitting. We hadn't left the beach yet but were all on the boat ready to take off when I told our tour guide. Even though we were still on the beach she said she'd call the desk at the beach so that they could keep the tank top for me and have it returned at the dock the next day. I naively believed her and we departed. At the dock I asked her if she called and what the people at the beach said and the tour guide said her phone had died and she didn't get the chance to call...she said to call the main office instead. At this point I know I had been played and was visibly upset but I called the main office and after they gave me a cordially run around they said my tank top couldn't be found. Now here's the kicker I Even provided them with pictures of where I left the tank top and a time stamp showing that it was there just minutes before we left the beach but they insisted my tank top couldn't be found. Now obviously the fault is with me for forgetting the tank top in the first place but I'm definitely not going to recommend a company that does the bare minimum for their paying customers and instead thinks they can just shower you with fake platitudes. Oh also I almost forgot. On the advertisement for this it's says you go to 4 different islands but really it's just 3. When I asked about this I was told that Baru Baru and Playa Blanca were the same place. Not sure if this is true but if it is then I suggest updating the advertisement for this trip. So all in all this gets a 3 for doing the bare minimum but still having a lot more room to grow. Again my recommendation would just be to go with another company if you can.

We had an amazing experience. The beaches are gorgeous. I HIGHLY recommend swim shoes and sunscreen. The snorkeling experience was awesome. The food is tasty, but the portions are small for American standards. Our guide was super nice and helpful.
Excellent Boat Tour! Worth the $

This excursion was amazing. Smooth boat ride. The first stop in Baru we went snorkeling and got to rest and snack at a cool beach and saw other islands. Chillin was super fun, literally a beach club in the water with food drinks and hookah. We then finished at Playa Blanca where the beach was excellent for long swimming and lounging. We had our own section of cabanas and our food was ready as soon as we got off the boat. The fried snapper was amazing. The crew overall was great! They were very attentive especially Mel. She was awesome, very friendly, informative, & helpful. She made our experience even better!
Best Day Trip!!

Mel was an amazing tour guide for the day and made sure we all had fun and we’re looked after!! One of the best days I’ve had snorkelling on a reef, swimming in the Caribbean and having some cocktails in a sea bar!!!

We had such a wonderful time! Awesome tour, three different islands and each one has a different vibe. Our guide Melany was amazing, especially with helping with our two young children. Highly recommended!!!!
The Highlight of our trip to Cartagena!
, Nov 2021
I cannot express how happy I was with this tour! Jesus, the captain and helper were outright amazing! Our guides were young guys but so knowledgeable and personable. The guides played really good music throughout the trip. They were dancing and really got us excited to be there! Our favorite part was the snorkeling. We saw a lot of Blue Tang fish (Dory's!) and different schools of fish. The guide had an eagle eye underwater and showed us things we would have never seen on our own. Also, be careful because mermaids are known to steal your husband around these parts! At the first island, we got a massage and hair braided by Oneyda (60 mil/pp) and bought some trinkets and had a drink. We were given a fruit plate as part of the tour. Let me just say, check yourself if you don't like people selling their items. This is the most honorable way they can provide for their family. They might be a little bothersome but a "no thank you" is all you have to say. The next island, Cholon was fun but definitely for a younger crowd. We are in our 40s. There is a fee to use the restroom here so try to go on the 1st island. Our guides stuck by us and would tell us if something was a good buy. They recommended watersports at Baru, where we were offered an amazing meal. We picked a more expensive meal and had no problem paying the difference. It was worth it! Here we were able to nap in a cabana, which all 3 couples did. After that, we headed back to Cartagena where we popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon. Super fun! The water can get choppy but our speed boat driver was a professional. He knew exactly how to ride those waves and follow in the tailwind of faster boats. It seemed like we got home much faster than it took to get there. I legit would do this tour many more times, with these exact guys! Good job and thank you for making our trip so memorable.

My husband and I had a GREAT experience!! There were about 5 other people on the boat! We were taken to the 3 mentioned places and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Melany was our tour guide her and her companion were very helpful on our snorkeling tour. They pointed out different fish and coral, gave you an option if you didn’t want to snorkel there was something else to do. The food was amazing as well!

This excursion was great! Island of Cholon was my favorite because it can be considered a cool party island. Our tour guide Mel was also great. She was extremely friendly and patient with us all.
