This full-day tour from Cancun packs a sightseeing punch—see Valladolid, a 16th-century colonial city, visit the ancient Maya civilization of Chichen Itza, a UNESCO Site, and have a chance to participate in an ancient Mayan purification ritual of Temazcal guided by a real shaman. In the archaeological zone, admire the Kukulkan pyramid and the Temple of Warriors. A guide explains the cultural importance of the landmarks you stroll past. Spend leisurely time relaxing in the peaceful cenote of Ik-Kil. With round-trip hotel transport, this is a hassle-free experience you don’t want to miss. *Please note that cenote Ik Kil is still closed and on the tour, at the moment, we will visit the cenote Selva Maya, which is very similar to Ikkil, until Ikkil is opened.

Great Full Day Tour!

Excellent tour! The pickup at the Hotel Riu Cancun was on-time and great communication with the tour operator made it easy. Our tour guide, Florentino, knew excessive information about the history of the sights, and communicated well in both English and Spanish. The food is very good. The cenote is stunning! Chichén Itzá was spectacular, just wish we had a bit more free time to walk around. Overall, a great tour!

I was kind of nervous reading all of the negative reviews AFTER I already booked with them, but we spent the money so I went with it.. Luckily everything went smooth our pickup was on time, the tour guides were very funny, friendly and informative. We enjoyed the whole experience at each stop and the food was yummy! No complaints :)

The Kids Were a Scream

I thought I was booking a small group tour. Instead, this is a big bus tour. Very little guidance from the tour "guide." Five children under the age of 5, two of whom were crying infants. That's a long day on a bus for infants (bad parenting). This created a negative energy.

Dear travelers! Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, we can not accept it, as it is not written anywhere that we offer a small group tour, this is a bus group tour. Transport is served on the tour, according to the number of tourists on a exact day. Our tour is not 18+, we are family friendly and therefore we believe that parents themselves have the right to decide whether a child can go on this tour or not. For those travelers seeking more personalized experience we usually recommend to book a private tour, where you will be picked up by private transport with your personal certificated guide and you will enjoy your own private experience. Please don´t hesitate to contact us, if there is anything else we can help you with. Best regards, OlMar Travel Team

The overall experience was pretty cool. You spend most of your time on the bus so bring snacks and water.

The trip was pretty cool , just seems rushed and you spend most of the time on the bus , which i hated. Make sure you bring snacks and water because they give you a nice lunch but you will be hungry and thirsty throughout .. and of course they charge you for EVERYTHING

Dear travelers! Thank you for your feedback, your opinion is very important to us! We are happy that you are glad with our tour, but let me, please, clarify some points. Since Chichen Itza is 250 km from Cancun, it is obvious that it is quite a long drive to get there. So we make some stops before we get there. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your lunch, and as you can see in the tour description, drinks are not included in the tour price. Our tour includes everything listed in the "inclusions" part and we do not charge any extras, fees and taxes. Of course, if you want to buy some souvenirs or snacks, then you pay for it yourself. For our customers who are looking for a more individual experience, we are always happy to offer a private tour, where you will have private transport, professional private guide and you will be able to stay in the visited place as long as you need. Best regards, OlMar Travel Team.

Best experience to Chichen Itza

Galo and his team (Chino, Frank and Salvador) are the best. Other than a little mixed up on the return time in Valladolid the tour was perfect, everyone was so nice and helpful. Salvador the local guide at Chichen Itza was very knowledgeable and informative. Highly recommend this tour. Felt very safe even during COVID. You should really take the time to visit Chichen Itza while in Cancun or in the area and you can’t go wrong with this tour company. And I can’t emphasize enough that it is safe to travel, so pack and go!!

The pyramids are amazing so is the cenote. Sadly we have very short time to be in the cenote and a lot of time in the shop which is a waste of time. Also the guide was not covering his face fully with the mask despite asking him to do so.

Dear travelers! Thank you for your feedback! We will definitely take note of our shortcomings and do our best to become even better for you! We want to note that the guide was wearing a mask, only when conducting the tour lowered it, being at a distance from tourists, but he also had a face shield on him! The time allotted for the cenote is spelled out in the tour itinerary, and the shopping is located in the same place as lunch. We never force the customers to buy something in a gift shop, but we also can not wait for tourists who do shopping there, as this is a shared tour. For our customers who are looking for a more individual experience, we are always happy to offer a private tour, where you will have private transport, professional guide and you will be able to stay in the visited place as long as you need. Best regards, OlMar Travel Team.

RISK TO HEALTH AND WASTE OF TIME.
Cheyenne_T

DO NOT use this company for your own health!! We were driven away from our hotels in a van by the company to a random place and then were unexpectedly put in a cramped bus of over 50 people (I counted personally) with NO ventilation as the windows didn’t even open. You can’t fully see in the picture attached, but our knees were digging into the backs of people in front of us and almost every seat was full (that cramped). As a tourist, we didn’t even know where we were or what to do at that point. I wish we knew this beforehand. Then the tour guide didn’t wear a mask at first because it was “too hard to talk into the microphone” when wearing one. They did not take our temperatures either. When we talked to the guides about being uncomfortable, they said well you can stay or take a $200 taxi back. Then they were rude to us the rest of our trip. As for the actual trip: our first two stops took up half the day for absolutely no reason. They basically just wanted you to buy stuff at each of them (especially the second). The best parts were the actual things you book for - a separate tour at Chichen Itza (our guide there was great) and a swim at the Cenote. You’ll come for those and only get limited time at them though. So definitely go on a tour to these but NOT with this company. Honestly, I am trying to get a refund for this trip as it did not meet any of the expectations written in the description - especially in regard to COVID precautions. Worried about being with family or friends after this - a waste of trying to be extremely careful the rest of our trip.

Dear Travelers! Thank you for the feedback! Every opinion is very important for us and help us to make better our service. Let us, please, clarify some moments. You were on the tour the 5th of December and the guide spoke with you all the time. First, you told the guide that in the description it was said that the transportation would go with 50% of capacity. But it wasn't true. There is no this information in the description, only "Social distancing enforced throughout experience" it means that, according to the covid 19 protocols, the transport occupancy rate cannot exceed 70%. In this case, there were 43 people on the bus designed for 61 tourists. We never sit unfamiliar tourists together. Only couples who have booked a tour together can sit together. Our buses are confortable with A/A, that's why it is impossible to open the windows and the space between the seats is standard for tourist buses. As for the guide, when conducting the tour in the bus, he was at a distance from the tourists and using a face shield, which is equivalent to the face mask and we always check the temperature aboarding the tourist. In addition, when leaving Cancun, you had no complaints, you never aksked the guide or contacted our office about any inconvenience in the bus, only upon arrival at the first point, you told the guide that when booking, the description indicated that the transport was 50% full, when the guide asked you to show it there was not in the description this information,. So the guide said you if you feel uncomfortable, we can help you return to the hotel (you were offered 2 options taxi or ADO bus in bus station in Valladolid), otherwise, there will be no refund. You answered that you would continue the tour and that you did not ask for a refund (at this time, we already received a request for a refund). Before entering Chichen-Itza, the guide asked you again if everything was all right, and you replied that you would not leave the tour. The night before, you contacted us via whatsapp, but never asked how many people would be on the tour tomorrow. We would like to note that there were 41 other tourists on the tour and we did not receive any more similar complaints, as we do not receive them from the other tourists, even though the tour is operated daily. We comply with all the standards of the COVID 19 protocol and never put the health and lives of our customers at risk.
