Great value, packed itinerary

We had a great time on this trip - we were very impressed with the on time pick-up, breakfast bag, our professional driver Israel, the Mercedes bus, buffet lunch, and of course Chichen Itzá! There simply wasn’t enough time for everything - the tour, lunch, pool, planetarium, and Shaman. So make good choices! There were some things that could easily be improved: 1) confirmation of pick-up time is a basic but we had to text and call Mayaland Tours to get the time from Playa Del Carmen. 2) The idea of a guide is alluring and certainly provides a lot of employment which I support. But I learned more from Wikipedia than the guide. The “archaeologist” guide also skipped a few points of interest which we went back to see on our own.

Booked this early access tour with Viator. Would highly recommend the early arrival. Julio was our driver and Mauricio our guide. Both were great.

What a fantastic day from start to finish.. I booked this excursion as Im currently on crutches and didnt fancy a long busy coach drive with a potentially rushed tour around Chichen Itza! We were picked up from our hotel by Carlos at 6.10am slightly early only to be told we were the only two on todays tour, fantastic. The Mercedes mini van was perfect, clean and really comfortable for the long journey.. Carlos explain how the day was going to go as we set off with our breakfast bags.. Chichen Itza was amazing. Carlos was so knowledgable and passionate about Chichen Itza and Mexico hes a credit to his company. I couldnt recommend him enough. The planetarium was really interesting too as was meeting a Shaman. The lunch in the hotel was lovely as well, there was time throughout the day to look around yourself and time to buy souvenirs etc. This was a brilliant day with a fantastic guide.. thanks

Comfortable transportation, small group though we were still held up by one straggler. I'm not sure what the special Viator welcome room is at the hotel. Planetarium was closed for refurbishment so we requested and received a refund for that portion of the trip. Getting to Chichen Itza early is a must because the site becomes swamped in no time whatsoever.

This tour is given by Mayaland resort tours. We booked this tour to accommodate Ik Kil cenote in the schedule. When we asked the coordinator how to go to Ik Kil, they were not ready to give us transportation of any kind, even though we were ready to pay the taxi and entrance fees as stated in description. Later the coordinators blatantly lied to us saying the cenote is closed for the day. We googled and verified it was not. After some angry conversations they arranged a taxi for us. Transportation and chichen itza tour was alright. But bad experience when it came to handling our requests for Ik Kil. Not worth 110, no other activities apart from Chichen Itza.

The tour itself was great but after I booked it thru Viator there was absolutely no way to contact Viator to ask any questions..... They sent me information that was not clear as to whether I could use e vouchers or if I had to print the vouchers. Viator also sent me a phone number of the actual tour company that did not work. If you want to book this tour, contact Grayline directly and you will also save money. I tried everything I could to get a phone number for Viators customer service but was unable to get one.

This tour was a blast, kinda early departure for a vacation day but turned out to be worth it. The Mayan priest, lunch and departing before the heat got too bad made for a very enjoyable day.

We really enjoyed this tour. Of course we had to get up at o'dark thirty for our 4:50 am pickup but it was worth it as we arrived early before the crowds and the heat! Our guide was very informative and we enjoyed seeing all the sights and hearing about the history. We also got to see a planetarium show air conditioned! and had a private shaman ceremony. The buffet lunch was wonderful and the food was excellent. As were the ladies who danced for us with beer bottles and trays on their heads! There was a bit of free time to souvenir shop or take a dip in the pool. We were back at our hotel mid-afternoon with plenty of afternoon pool time left. The bagged meal we received during a bus break about halfway to Chitzen Itza was a very nice touch and saved us from having to scrounge up breakfast before we left.
