From your hotel in Cancun, you’re picked up in the morning for the drive to Chichen Itza, considered the most important archaeological zone in the Yucatán.

Start your tour of significant locations at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the ball court, el Castillo (the Castle), the Pyramid of Kukulkan and Temple of the Warriors. Learn from your certified guide why the extraordinary architectural beauty and geographical location have led to Chichen Itza's designation as one of the New7Wonders of the World.

Then, stop to explore the natural wonders of a nearby cenote. Play in the deep, aquamarine waters of an underground swimming hole formed from a collapsed limestone cavern.

Head to a local restaurant for a buffet lunch of fresh salads, soups, rice, meat, chicken, fish, vegetables and other regional fare (drinks at own expense).

Stop in the “magic town” of Valladolid on the way back to Cancun for a brief tour of its town center.

Your Chichen Itza full-day tour ends with return transport to your Cancun hotel.

Long tour but great service

Our tour guide, Thomas and driver, Luis, were informative and great with being bilingual. Thomas made sure we hit all the places that was part of the package and made sure we made it into the bus after each stop. I felt a bit rushed during the cenote (only 1 hour). The cenote was a bit crowded as other tour buses made a stop there. We also had only 30 min at the city of Volladoid. I had to pay $50 USD for taxes extra that was not stated on the website so be prepared with extra cash for tax and tip. The entire tour lasted about 14 hours.

The park was amazing but it took too long to get there and too long to return. I feel we spent more time on the bus then touring. Beautiful learning about the pyramid!

Exhausting day

Most memorable was seeing chichen itza, but that only happened around 14:00pm. I had to wait at the hotel by 6:45 am, pick up was late and arrived 7:45 am, then we were taken to another location to get off the bus and register + pay tax (usd 25). Finally when everyone was done, we got on the bus to this place where they sell tourist stuff and they dont shy away from promoting all that stuff (really annoying!). We had lunch at the same place; the lunch didnt have any taste. I only ate because there would be no other option to get a meal during the day (i saw many other people leaving the table with a lot of food still on the plate). Then finally we were headed to chichen itza where we got a guided tour. This was really nice, the tour guide knew a lot. If you cant stand the heat, then buy an umbrella because there is hardly any shade (and you’re there hottest time of the day for 1,5 hours). I wish there was some time to wonder around myself. After chichen itza, we went to a cenote. It was nice, but you really had to hurry! And there were many other people (tourists busses) as well. After that, we went to Valladolid. Nice town, great for some pictures on the square, but nothing more than that. I was at my hotel at 21:45 ( so it was a 15 hours day!!!)! Honestly, the sight with the tourist stuff, the lunch place and Valladolid could have been skipped. Ive read that in other comments as well, wonder why this is not being listened to. The only reason i booker this one is because i was really late and other tours were full.

The tour guides, Juan and Ricardo, were absolutely amazing! They made the trip so fun and shared an abundance of knowledge. The bus ride was long, but it was very comfortable. All of the stops were awesome, especially the time at Chichen Itza. Definitely recommend this day trip!

Chitzen Itzá was great. Everything else wasn’t

The highlight of this tour was Chitzen Itzá and everything we learned about Mayan culture and their calendar. But overall the tour wasn’t organized very well. If you are staying in a newer northern hotel in Cancun you will be up early. We were picked up at 6:40 AM and brought down to the bus after picking up others on the way. The bus left at 8:30AM. Since Chitzen Itzá is 3.5 hours away the first stop was lunch. This stop was way too long! There was a short Mayan shaman demonstration here which was nice but it should have just been that and lunch and get on the bus. It was upsetting that we were given so much time here especially since it was for shopping at the overpriced gift shop. We didn’t get to Chitzen Itzá until about 1:30PM. The hottest part of the day. So now we have been on this tour for 6 hours and seen nothing until now. The tour guide here was fantastic. Best part of the day. Note: you’ll have to pay money if you want to bring your nice camera in (50 pesos). The Cenote on this tour was crowded. And since we spent too much time at the first stop all your time at this stop goes to renting a life jacket, changing, showering, and swimming 15 minutes before needing to get out to shower ans change. If this is the only Cenote you will see on your vacation then do it simply because it will cool you off from the heat and you won’t have another chance. Valladolid was a waste of time. It would have been better if we had just driven by it. By this time it is 6:00PM and you get little info on the city and all you do is buy Mexican corn for a 30 minute stop. We were back at the hotel at 9:30PM So a 14 hour day to only enjoy 1 stop is why we give this 3 stars. Chitzen Itzá is that good. My advice would be to choose a tour that just goes there and back.

Our host, Juan, was a real joy - full of good humor and useful information that made for a great overall journey... and the transportation was excellent as well. The day was long, so bring a book or something to keep you occupied during the journey out an back.

I lost my time and money
Maricela_Berumen

I had to pay 25 dollars more per person. we also spent 8-9 hours in the bus, the stops range from 30 to 1:30 (45 minutes with the guide) so we can do nothing with that time, PLEASE don’t do this, many people ended up really disappointed and angry for wasting time and their money!!
