Return Details

Returns to original departure point
From your hotel in Cancun, you’re picked up in the morning for the drive to Chichen Itza, considered the most important archaeological zone in the Yucatán.

Start your tour of significant locations at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the ball court, el Castillo (the Castle), the Pyramid of Kukulkan and Temple of the Warriors. Learn from your certified guide why the extraordinary architectural beauty and geographical location have led to Chichen Itza's designation as one of the New7Wonders of the World.

Then, stop to explore the natural wonders of a nearby cenote. Play in the deep, aquamarine waters of an underground swimming hole formed from a collapsed limestone cavern.

Head to a local restaurant for a buffet lunch of fresh salads, soups, rice, meat, chicken, fish, vegetables and other regional fare (drinks at own expense).

Stop in the “magic town” of Valladolid on the way back to Cancun for a brief tour of its town center.

Your Chichen Itza full-day tour ends with return transport to your Cancun hotel.

First off, Adrian & Victor were awesome. They were both extremely friendly and accommodating. Were able to answer any historical or technical questions I had while keeping the trip fun. What I was not so happy about is that after i booked the trip, i was told that I needed to pay an extra 483 mx pesos per person, I asked why, and they were unable to explain why I had to pay this “fee.” I agreed to pay, but when I went to check in (in person) at the store where they meet and give you a wristband, the lady ended up charging me about 1100 mx pesos for both of us which is about 130 more than the price I was told. She also was unable to explain why I had to pay more than the price they gave me online. I was very disappointed and angry because twice I felt like I was being scammed and was not even explained where all these fees were coming from after I booked a trip that’s supposed to have everything included. The trip itself was rushed, 1:30 hr at chichen itza and you are with the guide at all times. 1 hr at the cenote which is way too crowded and due to covid i decided not to jump in, and only 30 mins at Vallaloid which is only enough to grab food (the food they recommended to get was tasteless and made me sick, better stick to the american fast food chains in the area). At chichen itza, it focused on the main building and we did not really learn much about the other structures around the area which was a bit annoying because I wanted to be able to see those too. They don’t allow you to have “free” time to explore, you will only have 5 mins to go take photos really quick and come back to your group. Overall, if I had to go back I would rent a car and do it myself since lots of times i wasted on stops and they take the longest route to get there rather than the highway. They also put lots of pressure for you to buy from an overpriced store(this is where they stop to eat).

too darn slow and too much waiting times, too slow
Brett_W

The trip to Mayan Ruins of Chicken Itza was bad because the people are so slow. pick up at 7 am to wait 1 hour at another place. 25 dollars extra to pay for taxes per person. 1 dollar to retun life jacket. 4 dollars for locker. No water or beverage was included. They wanted id. 1 hour wait for the guides at chicken itza. Basically 5 hours of waiting times everywhere. Mexicans are nice people so slow on everything and trying to get your money at every turn. The trip is way over cost and gives you very little. Better option maybe taking the bus and eating by yourself and guiding guide there.

Wow, wow, wow! Definitely worth it! Cancun Bay tours’ staff was amazing. Our tour guide throughout was Ricardo and I highly recommend him as he is very knowledgeable from Mayan culture to colonial history. Speaks English very well and easily switched between Spanish and English with ease. Though he did not facilitate the English speaking tour of Chichen Itzá (he facilitated the Spanish one), I’m sure he would’ve been a great guide. Our guide at Chichen was Cesar and man, does this guy knows his history, Mayan history and culture. He was very knowledgeable and spoke with such pride and enthusiasm when explaining all the ruins, not just the temple of Kukulcan. Book Cesar to show you around Chichen. Best tour during our trip!

The trip to Chichen Itza itself was the best part of the trip. However, it took too long and the last part of the trip could have been removed (the colonial city). I would have like the half hour back to spend in Chichen Itza.

Thank you for oyur feedback. We have checked and sometimes depending on the scheduling we stay for 1 hour and a half at the archaeological site or it could be more. We will see if there was any change the date you performed the activity. Thank you for your kind words
