It is not by bus but minibus, where you packed inbetween other travellers like a sardine with very poor air con for 6 hours one way with a bare minimal leg room.
There is 2 toilet stops during the transfer to Cairo and back in very poorly sanitised places and often with one toilet between all of the travelers from your microscopic bus and other coaches. Forget about the luxury of toilet paper.
When we arrived to Cairo we got 2 guides, English and German. I was lucky enough that I speak both languages so I got a bit better experience as the German guide was more informative than our English chap. First stop was museum where we spent maybe 40 minutes running behind our English guide (including toilet break with humongous cue). If you are a bit physically out of condition or has a disability like me or heart condition with defib don't even consider booking. Most of the group struggled to run behind the guide and when we got there he already finished talking/ explaining the story behind the artifacts. That persisted throughout all day so apart from getting from place to place he was pretty much useless. Then we got 30 minutes to go around the museum which is not even near enough to see even half of one floor with the amount of crowds- pretty big disappointment. Then you are taken on river cruise (optional) and charged 200 egp per person extra. That would be nice if not the blasting loud music. Then you are taken to the restaurant for lunch-fish boat- with no fish available. The buffet style lunch had really poor choice with lukewarm, oversalted food that was truly the worst we had over our 2 week stay in Egypt. Than you are taken to Giza to see pyramids and sphinx. It was nice to see it and enjoy the views however once again running in full sun to chase the guide was not my best holiday experience. On the way back you are taken to very mediocre quality shop with perfumes and papyrus where you get nagged to buy. Before you accept drink there, opposite toilets they have a kitchen covered with curtain, just have a little peek and then evaluate how desperate you are for one of their teas or coffies. The journey back was as bad as going to Cairo. Don't get fooled that they will provide snacks or drinks as you cannot get hydrated with 50mls of orange juice or coke/ haven't seen snacks. At the end of it they had a cheeck to nag for 5 stars review and they stood next to you and look what you wrote than soon as everyone wrote the review the Internet on the minibus was switched off. At the end of it they were stretching hands for tips. What a joke as totally undeserved. Overall do not recommend it at all. Nice to see pyramids but the overall experience wasn't pleasant at all. My partner also has been left way behind and trying to explain by himself that he cannot go through security gate due to heart device implanted and the guides would not help or wait for us at all. Hence is a big NO From us.

Bus was comfortable with cushions, WiFi, TV, phone charger, plenty of drinks and snacks- it helped as it was a long drive. Amazing to see the pyramids, camels, Sahara desert and river Nile. The tour guide Mamdou, host Ahmed and the driver were all friendly and knowledgeable. Great experience!
Best tour ever

This experience made my whole trip so much better. Everything was on point, the timing, the guide was incredible full of knowledge, the organiser was a great host, offered us drinks and snacks through the trip always made sure we were enjoying our time. I didn't feel like I was in rush like in most of the tours. We stopped in Nice places were we could pay a fair price for items (not like in most places where they charge a lot to tourists).
I left Cairo full of knowledge and passion about the country. I had a lot of tours during my travels and this was the best one so far. Definitely recommend it 😊
Excellent!

Trip to Cairo was amazing from Hurghada and was well worth the trip. Tour guide was excellent and was very knowledgeable and even helped us be more aware of the locals and made us fell safe.
What could be improved is more snacks (savoury and sweet) for the tour. As the tour is nearly 20 hours from pick up to drop off it would be ideal to make sure tourists are satisfied and not hungry. The restaurant part of the tour had very limited vegetarian options.

We went on the 12th feb 2020, the pick was spot on timing followed by the 6 hour long drive to Cairo by mini bus, which supplied cushions, water and onboard entertainment. Arrived in Cairo which was hectic but well worth the events to follow. Our tour Guide Mama was everything you would look for in a tour guide. We had no problems with the locals which were trying to haggle is at the pyramids and in the centre of Cairo. The lunch was a buffet next to the river Nile which was amazing. Roughly the whole day was about 21 hours long but well worth it and the views are spectacular.
Definitely worth the visit!!

A long day but Definitely worth it! The company was very well organised and the transport was great, brand new van and pillows, much better than another company we went with later in the week. Snacks were provided and we had an excellent guide ‘Mama’. Only negative was an expensive transfer of £25 from Makadi Bay , but overall an excellent trip and would definitely recommend this company .

Best Cairo Experience!
bethneth25
, Feb 2020
We highly recommend this tour! We were picked up outside of our hotel at 02:45 in a small van with four other passengers. They provided us with some small snacks and water, and we were on our way to Cairo. The trip is obviously a bit long, so we slept for the beginning, but once it was light out it was very pretty and an enjoyable trip. We started at the Egyptian Museum, which I didn't have any expectations for, but ended up being a great supplement to the trip, as I learned a lot of history I didn't know about and it ended up making the pyramids even greater. Mama was our tour guide in Cairo, and as every other review says, he was amazing! He really treated us like his own family and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. After the museum, we paid 200 lira extra ($15?) to take a Nile cruise. They make it seem optional but it's really not, so bring extra money for that. The cruise was nice though (very cold), and it took us to lunch. Lunch was really great, and Mama was great about getting us there before other tourist groups arrived. After that we headed to the pyramids, and of course the best part of the trip. The pyramids were awesome. Mama made sure to get our pictures throughout it, and took us to a great panoramic spot that no other tourist were at. We learned a lot of history and they definitely lived up to the hype. The only downside of the trip was right after the pyramids, you're taken to a shop to have tea and coffee, but really it is someone trying to get you to buy fragrances. If you say you don't want tea or coffee, he makes you get some anyway. And then they make you try fragrances and really pressure you to buy something. One person in our group did but it's uncomfortable when everyone is just sitting there not buying anything.
Other than that though, the trip was amazing! It was a great price and I would do it again and again!

Brilliant day from start to finish . Mini bus great and the added cushions a delightful extra as was the goodie bag. Our guide mama was so knowledgeable and passionate it made us hungry for more history of Egypt so have booked a tour for luxor. It is a long day but absolutely worth it . A big thank you to the two drivers also who are a marvel at getting through the streets of Cairo safely .

Fantastic way to see Cairo in a day, we were picked at 1.30am and returned in our resort at 11pm. We had our 6 year old daughter too. The trip is so worth it if you want to see pyramids and get back to Hurghada. Also, our tour guide was fantastic, his name was Mama. We also felt safe all the time, highly recommend this trip.

Excellent service picked us up on time. Explained the day and provided us with snacks. Lunch was lovely on the river Nile. The Museum was great and the new Museum will be even better as its 33 times the size and state of art plus next to pyramids. Open late 2020. Guide was good informative.
Amazing (but tiring!)

This tour provides a whistle stop tour of the city of Cairo, the River Nile, and the Giza plateau, and is idea for travellers who are pressed for time. Our tour guide, Mama, was simply outstanding and his passion for Egyptian culture and heritage came across in abundance. He's been a tour guide for over 30 years, and it was clear he was doing this job out of a genuine love for his country and it's history. This tour deserves five stars if only for his service and friendliness - he guided us through the Egyptian museum and showed us key exhibits, informed us of notable landmarks as went on our Nile river cruise, and took photos of us at panoramic hotspots in the Giza plateau. At no point did we feel obligated to give gratuities or pressured into paying for optional extras (e.g. the visit to the essences shop at the end).
Our tour facilitator, Ahmad, arranged a private minibus for us at short notice, since the larger coach had only European tourists on that day. Word of warning - this tour is incredibly long (pick up was at 2am and we returned around 11pm), so I would book this tour advisedly if you're travelling with young children. In hindsight, it was a blessing in disguise we had a private minibus just for our family. The extra cost of booking a private tour is definitely offset by the comfort and convenience it offers!
Overall, a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience - a must-see for tourists pressed for time!
