Meet your knowledgeable guide in the morning across the street from Boston’s Old State House. Take your first steps along Boston’s iconic Freedom Trail, a historic walking path that snakes past many of Beantown’s most famous landmarks from the colonial and revolutionary-eras. Check out the stately Faneuil Hall and explore both Boston’s Old and New State Houses before stopping to pay your respects at the site of the 1770 Boston Massacre.

Continue by foot past the Old Corner Bookstore and King’s Chapel before heading toward Boston’s downtown area. As you head into the forest of skyscrapers, catch a few glimpses of the Boston of old along the way, including Boston Common, the Public Garden, and one of the world’s smallest suspension bridges.

Arriving downtown, gaze up at the John Hancock Tower before passing by the Boston Public Library and Trinity Church? Want to feel like a real winner? Make sure to take a ceremonial pass over the finish line location for the famous Boston Marathon. End your trip amidst the beautiful architecture of Copley Square.

Must do!!

This is a must do in Boston if you want to learn history! I highly recommend starting your vacation with this. Our tour guide was more the knowledgeable about the city’s history, and told it all with a great sense of humor.

Informative but biased

It was informative and interesting until he mentioned that John Handcock was a communist because he helped people who went through financial hardships (lost a job, business burned down etc...) He was a philanthropist not a communist. Communism bring misery to the population except if you are in power. His viewpoints should be kept out of the historical tour explanations.

We do try and steer clear of political issues or sensitivities in our tour presentations but this was part of a response from a question from one of the group. The term actually used was "socialist by today's standards", but both the guide and I apologize for the customer becoming upset.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging with our group. He answered questions that the group asked outside of normal tour. Was great that he was actually from Boston all his life!

icon Response from Host , May 2021
The tour covers the Downtown portion of the Freedom Trail plus Beacon Hill to Back Bay. The whole Freedom Trail is a half day tour, but 3/4 of the sites are covered in the Downtown part. Thanks for your input.

Not worth money (even 7 bucks)

It eas nice to have a bit of infirmation read to us. There wasn't much more than was printed on the sides of buildings so I'm sorry I paid for it.
icon Response from Host , May 2021
Susan, I am sorry you had a bad experience, but it was not our tour you were on! We don't have anything close to $7 (I guess that's a good thing in this case). And I'm not sure what sides of buildings you're referring to. Who did you do the tour with?
