We love DREU

Dreu was an amazing tour guide. His energy, passion and knowledge of the island made this trip worth every penny. He made the best of a rainy day and gave an amazing 12+ hour tour that just went by too quickly. Dreu delivered an informative from the heart view of the islands features. He cares deeply for the island and its history and preservation. Keep an eye on what hat he is wearing as he changes them based on the venue. I would highly recommend this tour especially if Dreu is your guide, he is "more better than Aight"!

Worth your time

We had the best time on this excursion. Our guide Derek was so knowledgeable about every place we visited. From the coffee farm to the caldera, he could answer all questions thrown at him. He always went above and beyond asking if we needed water or snacks and always offering to take family pictures for you. We ended the night with spectacular star gazing and once again, Derek educated us on what we were looking at. If you are looking for a great way to see the Big Island, this is the way to go. They know all the places to stop, they feed you, and even have extra warm coats because it does get chilly on the slopes at night. It’s a long day but worth it.

Fun day trip

It was really cool to get to see so much of the island in one day. The tour started with a coffee farm in Kona and had great coffee and then we went to the volcano national park, lava tube, bakery, diner at lava rock cafe, and finally stargazing up on Mauna kea. The bakery and the dinner at lava rock cafe were not the best food we’ve had on the island...the bakery had one good Malasada the lilakoi flavored one, and for dinner the burger looks like the best bet. Dastan our tour guide was amazing!!! He was very knowledgeable about the island and the culture, and made the full day tour fly by! Being able to see the stars from up on Mauna Kea was amazing, it’s so clear and you can see so many stars! We wished we were able to stay up there longer, as I wasn’t able to set my camera up and get any shots by the time our group was too cold and ready to leave.

An absolute must-do activity on the big island!

This tour was absolutely amazing. Our guide, Dreu, had so much local knowledge and experience that he talked almost the entire length of the tour, and kept everyone's attention the whole time! They were gracious enough to pick everyone up from a variety of local resorts, and the boxed meals they provided were delicious! From touring a local coffee farm, visiting the southernmost bakery in the US, visiting the Black Sands Beach and seeing a sea turtle, and of course driving and hiking through the Volcano National Park, every stop was something new and amazing to see and experience! Dreu's experience as a guide really made it that much better, as he used his knowledge of local weather patterns and the changing geography to make sure we got the best views and pictures at each stop, and there were no disappointments at all!

Tour guide was amazing, very knowledgeable, polite and people's person. Black sand beach, coffee plantations, chain of craters, and delicious dinner at Lava rock cafe. We missed star gazing due to rainy weather.

BUYER BEWARE!!

The fact that the tour says pickup is between 10 and 11 and then at 10:20 tells us that they can’t wait any longer so they have to leave without us. We were told by the tour guide that we would receive a full refund, but Viator sent me an email stating we would only get a partial refund due to our “no show”. We were literally 5 minutes from the pickup and we were on our way when they called. I find it interesting that the tour guide can be 15 minutes late due to traffic, but they couldn’t wait for us. 0 stars. They sent us an email the day before the tour stating that the would pick us up at 9:45, which I didn’t see because of traveling issues to the state of Hawaii. So the pickup time posted is NOT between 10 and 11. Ask them (far in advance) the exact time of pickup. Emailing you the day before is not ok.
icon Response from Host , May 2021
The tour description says pickup time is between 10 to 11 am depending on your hotel locations. Your hotel was the first pickup location and you were emailed the day before with the exact pickup time. It's the guest's responsibility to contact the tour operator if they aren't sure about the pickup time. Our guide was delayed by traffic by 20 minutes and arrived at your hotel at 10:05 am and you weren't ready, we went to pick up other guests and came back to your hotel 15 minutes later and you still weren't ready. Being over 40 minutes behind the schedule, we had to leave without you especially since other guests were waiting to be picked up. A partial refund was issued initially due to a staff unaware of your situation and a full refund was issued after clarification with management. We are disappointed to see your unwarranted negative review even after receiving a full refund.
