Wonderful trip! The driver was the best! I can’t say enough what a pleasure it was to drive around the island with Uncle Jim! And of course the volcano was epic!

More than just a Lava Tube

Although the active volcano did not have any visible lava, it was a very nice trip. Got to learn and be entertained by Grants knowledge of Hawaii and enjoyed his great story telling. The Lava Tube was unbelievable — how can that be done by lava?!? The dinner was very nice and enjoyed our visit with other tourists.

Tremendous tour!

The tour was very organized and well-planned!! The van was spacious, clean, and well-stocked with cold drinks and snacks. We loved all the stops, our tour guide, Grant, was extremely knowledgable about the island—the culture, history, legends, food, volcanoes, and natural aspects of the island! I would certainly do it again!!

Aloha Karen, Mahalo Nui Loa for your wonderful review. We thank you for taking the time to review Grant's tour. We love what we do and your review makes us want to go out and show the next group the same incredible experience. We value our guests' time and understand that everyone works so hard to visit and that's not lost on our mission. Thanks again for your review, Chris

Our tour guide, Jim Carey, was very knowledgeable with many Hawaiian history stories and the area. Ask a question and he had an answer.Stops were educational and informative. Dinner at Kileaua Lodge was wonderful. Since these tours have recently resumed after the volcano erruption, please consider a tour and request Jim. Our group was 7 but could be 12

Aaron was a bery knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. The tour visited many interesting sites including waterfalls and lava glows. There were only 11 of us on the 14 seater minivan which made it more intimate. The van was very comfortable and clean.

This is a good tour, but the website description is inaccurate. The park is currently closed indefinitely and the Jaggar museum has actually been destroyed by the volcano and may never reopen. Still a good way to see the big island, but be aware that you'll spend most of your time driving around and the closest you'll get to the volcano is about a half mile away. That said, our tour guide was excellent, the van was comfy, and the food was decent.
