World Famous Black Taxi Tour of Belfast

Our tour had a poor start as, 15 minutes after the scheduled pickup time with no taxi, I rang the company and was told it was in traffic (on a Sunday morning). When the cab did arrive, the driver thought we had booked a 95 minute tour, whereas we’d paid for a 3 hour “Political “ tour. The problem was eventually explained as occurring because of the sudden death of the father of the bookings secretary on the previous day and therefore the Boss was unaware of any details of the booking. The owner of the company then appeared and himself gave us nearly 5 hours of a dedicated tour of significant places relevant to the last 50+ years of NI history. A confirmed and active Republican himself, our guide went to great lengths to ensure we received a relatively balanced picture of the troubles and war. We left much more educated than when we arrived and with a long list of further references to read. Thank you; thoroughly recommended.
