Hello and thanks for sharing.... Children might not be able to fully comprehend the meanings of sacrifice and of loss which our Normand landscape bore witness to 78 years ago. However, we do know that all the youngsters on Bayeux Shuttle tours unmistakably perceive the universal gratitude for our soldier’s dedication and courage. As a mother of four, I know exposing children at a young age to memorial sites encourages their moral development. Having paid respects at a very young age to our fallen at Belleau Wood, Gettysburg, Arlington Cemetery, and Ground Zero, my children eventually developed a strong sense of service and respect for our service members. “Children will be children”...but they are building their foundation through mimic and experiences.
