Your full-day tour of Auckland begins with pick-up from your central hotel and a scenic drive through the city to the North Shore. Admire views across Waitemata Harbour as you cross the famous Auckland Harbour Bridge and arrive in the lively seafront village of Devonport. Hop out to stretch your legs and take photos as your guide points out the Auckland skyline to the south, then drives you to North Head to enjoy views of the volcanic Rangitoto Island.

Cross back into central Auckland and follow the Tamaki Drive, a dramatic coastal road that winds its way along Waitematā Harbour to Misson Bay. Along the way, pass the glitzy waterfront of Viaduct harbor; spot the iconic Sky Tower looming above the buildings; and stop at lookout points like Achilles Point and Bastion Point.

Next, pay a visit to Cornwall Park to see the legendary One Tree Hill, where your guide will tell you all about the crater hill and its significance to the Maori people. Another beautiful park is the Auckland Domain in the Parnell neighborhood, where you’ll have chance to admire the Wintergarden. Then, get a glimpse of local life as you drive through Ponsonby, one of Auckland’s hippest neighborhoods, and perhaps peek into the shops along Ponsonby road.

After lunch (own expense), it’s time to head out of the city towards the wild west coast and Muriwai Beach. Breathe in the sea air as you stroll the black sand beach, then head to the southern end of the beach to visit one of New Zealand’s most important Gannet breeding colonies. There’s just time to make a stop at one of the wineries along the Kumeu Wine Trail for a wine tasting (included) before heading back to the city. Finally, your tour ends with drop off at your hotel.

Great tour
Neil
, Mar 2020
We expected a full minibus, but due to the Corona virus, were the only ones that hadn't cancelled. This made it rather eerie at first, but before long that feeling had passed, this because of Mike's passionate love for his city and its environs, which he delighted in showing us. A very varied tour, taking in some stunning views, a really delightful riverside lunch with stops and explanations at selected city highlights. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended,

Thank you for choosing our Full Day Tour of Auckland. We pride ourselves on our Full day Tour of Auckland being the most comprehensive 1 Day Tour available. When you now reflect back on a map of Auckland and see where you went, what you did and what you saw, we are sure you will agree. We have encapsulated in the design of our tour everything about Auckland from the stunning beaches, the rugged west coast with its black sand and gannet colony, the quaint township of Devonport, the stunningly spectacular views from aloft volcanoes (extinct), the countryside, the fauna and flora of the Wintergardens and Fernery to name just a few. And yes, the wine tasting!!! I sense you loved that. Our tour is not a wine tour but when we are out west we visit what we consider to be the best and most famous. I sense you fell in love with Auckland and in the hands of one of our highly knowledgeable, professional and affable guides; even more so. Thank you sincerely for choosing our tour

Fabulous trip with Mike. We were lucky there were only 5 of us which gave a really personal service. Mike was very knowledgeable and keen to share his city with us. We even had quite a bit of sunshine. Wine tasting was short but enjoyable, lunch location lovely.

Thank you! Yes all our tours are a maximum of 11 or 14 guests which as you mention gives you that highly personal experience with one of our guides who are renowned for their deep knowledge, professionalism and affability as you experienced first-hand. As you experienced , due to the topography of Auckland, Auckland is best seen in a smaller 12 or 15 seater as on our specially designed tour of Auckland we go to place where the bigger bus/coaches physically cannot go to. I sense you fell in love with Auckland and you would have marvelled at the magical views when we were elevated. I sense also that you loved the wine tasting (though remember our tour is not a wine tasting tour) as we want to encapsulated evrything of Auckland as this is only one of 20 odd stops that we make throughout the day. And yes, what better location for lunch than one of the most historic locations in Auckland dating back to 1857. So many of our guests say it is one of the highlights of their tour. Thank you for choosing our tour and best wishes

As you experienced, our tour offers not only the most magical and spectacular views but also the history, countryside, fauna and flora on the 15 odd stops that we make. I sense you marvelled at the simply spectacular 360 degree views of Auckland when you were elevated. The nature of Auckland and its topography is that our 12 are 15 seater Mercedes-Benz vehicles can go where the big 60-70 seater buses physically can't go. The full day scenic bus tour was wonderful. It highlighted some of the best areas of Auckland. Our driver and guide, Nick, was an absolute gem. He was kind, curteous, and full of information. He often checked in on each of us individually to make sure we were doing okay. He made the tour very enjoyable. Thank you Nick for a wonderfully enjoyable and educational day.

Mike was very knowledgeable, showed us much of Auckland and surrounding areas. Had us back to ship on time and we saw much more than we would have on ship’s 1/2 day excursion. Much better value! 7 folks from ships on tour. He knew easy ways through traffic.
