Book the 2 tours together. Impossible to have a better understanding by reading the plaques alone.

Our tour guide Edi was very knowledgeable and kept us fully engaged so there was never a boring moment. With the two tours combined we were able to visit the Acropolis the New Acropolis Museum, which gave us a better understanding of the history. Even though it was hot our tour guide Edi ensured we took plenty of breaks in the shade! BTW…..many people who booked the Acropolis tour alone changed their minds and added the museum tour afterwards because the first tour was so exciting.

Very good but a bit long

We did a tour with Hermes as a guide and a group of about 20 people. Of course, if you have never been before, the Acropolis is a must and the museum is spectacular. (It's situated just below the Acropolis, in the same orientation, so that the copies of the Elgin Marbles can be displayed in the same position while you look at the real thing across the large windows.) Hermes was quite funny and cynical. He told entertaining and class-conscious stories in excellent English. There were a couple of minuses. First the price doesn't include the price of entry to the Acropolis or museum. This is well indicated on the website. What is less well indicated is that you have to purchase the tickets from the tour operator when checking in, and they accept cash only. This is unprofessional. They only sell regular tickets (at a discount). If you need a reduced-priced ticket (senior etc.) then you have to pay at the Acropolis and there might be a line, which defeats the purpose of the skip-the-line ticket. For some reason the guide didn't explain he made us wait at the Acropolis for about 15 minutes before the visit of the museum. The tour of the museum was somewhat disappointing: although the museum itself if magnificent, our guide went on and on about how the Brits stole their art, but explanation of the art itself was limited and repetitive. It was too long for the amount of information we got out of it. It's unclear the skip the line was useful at the Acropolis as there didn't appear to be any line to buy tickets there. It did help at the entrance of the museum where they check bags.

Dear guest, first of all, we want to thank you for your detailed, valuable feedback. We are very glad to hear that your visit to the Acropolis was rewarding and that you found the Acropolis Museum spectacular. Your guide, Hermes, is a top-rated, very well-educated professional; an excellent guide, with an acute sense of humor. But let us address the matters raised in your review. First of all, we offer the skip-the-line service to all our guests, entirely free of charge, because usually the Acropolis' entrances do have long queues. On our website, there is a wide tour range; i.e. all-inclusive options, where the entrance ticket fees are included in the tour price, short tours, longer tours, historical tours, food tours, etc. so that you can choose the best alternative for you. Of course, we accept credit or debit cards, as clearly indicated on our website, and you can pay even on the spot or by telephone through our operations department. The reason we do not provide discount tickets is that we are not allowed to, nor is any other agent. The ministry of tourism authorities have decided to give only regular tickets to resellers. The reduced tickets (i.e. for youth, seniors, or students EU/non-EU) are provided exclusively at the Acropolis or the Museum's counters, with the physical presence of the visitor absolutely required, and after showing to the cashier proper identification (passport or ID). However, when our guests reach the entrance counters, should they need a discount ticket, they still skip the line, since they are part of the group. Your guide made you wait for 15 minutes at the Acropolis because it is a regular break our guides give to guests for photographs, for drinking some water, or for simply clearing your head and absorbing the beauty of the site, before proceeding to the second, equally informative and valuable part of the tour at the Museum. Your guide, Hermes, is one of the most qualified professionals we have in our team, always eager to share his abundance of knowledge with his guests. His tours are very often praised for the wealth of information provided. Moreover, he is an extremely dignified and cordial human being. We are positive that whatever comment he made about the Elgin marbles, was in a humorous context, without the slightest intention to offend. Αlso, in the flow of speech, it is sometimes easy to get misunderstood. However, we have taken account of your feedback, and our quality assurance department is working to fully clarify the matter. We sincerely hope that your overall experience was pleasing, and we apologize for anything that dulled your enjoyment. We hope you will give us another opportunity in the future to better meet your expectations. Thank you once again for your honest and helpful assessment.

Big well done to the tour guide Sisi. She made the walk up to the acropolis hill less tiring with the stops in the shade and all the info she gave us about the history of acropolis. She is very knowledgeable. A great tour guide indeed !

Dear Chantal, saying that you are glad you used the service really makes our day. This is what we are working for, and we feel very happy you enjoyed the tour both on the Acropolis and at the Museum. Our guides are indeed great storytellers, and of course this makes the experience even more fun and engaging. Great Tour but kind of pricy
AAP

The tour was overall a good experience. Yovanna was our tour operator and she was lovely as she made sure we were with her at all times and did not get lost and kept us well informed about the sites. Skipping the line was pretty worth it as well with the tour as you don't have to wait in the line for so long and just go straight in with your tickets. Only reason I gave this a 3-star is because I feel it was a bit rushed and at times it's nice to tour around the Acropolis and take pictures as well. Yovanna was kind enough to give us 15 mins at the end of the Acropolis tour before heading to the museum to take pictures; however, if more time was allotted, it would've been worthwhile.

Dear guest, first of all, we are very glad that your overall experience was pleasant, and thank you for sharing it. All our tour guides are knowledgeable and lovely, and we are very happy that you confirm it for your guide as well. Moreover, it is very satisfying for us the fact that you acknowledge how convenient and speedy is the skip-the-line service we offer to all our guests, free of charge. We are sorry you felt rushed though. Your tour lasts approximately 3 hours and a half in total. We understand that you wanted more time allocated to photographs. In a historical-mythological tour, such as the one you chose, your licensed tour guides, usually well-educated scholars, such as archaeologists or historians, try to provide a detailed informative experience to the group. By doing so, more guests can better understand the sites' utmost importance, and admire each monument's great value. Of course, in between each stop there is time allocated for pictures. On top of that, we have a 15min photo break on the Acropolis before you head off to the Acropolis Museum, the equally important, second part of the tour, with your guide escorting you. We understand that people have different needs and that is why we have a great selection of tours to fit everybody, as well as Private customized tours where you get to adjust the itinerary to your likings. Thank you once again for sharing your experience and your concerns.

Overpriced

The guide was amazing. But the tour was very overpriced, as tickets were not included in the price. Please make it clear that the tickets worth is 30$ were not included in the 60$ price.
icon Response from Host , Jul 2021
Thank you very much for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We are glad you thought your tour guide was amazing, because indeed all our guides are wonderful, knowledgeable and passionate professionals. Regarding the admission tickets of the Acropolis and the Museum, it is very clearly stated on our webpage (before you book the tour) that the admission fees are not included, as well as on the voucher you get after booking the tour. Moreover, we do have tour options that include all admission fees, and in all cases, we offer the skip-the-line service to all our guests free of charge. We hope that overall you had a good time in Athens, and that you will give us the chance to satisfy you in all aspects in the future.
