Comprehensive, enjoyable, distinct.

Our tour guide, Despina, made sure to do most of the story telling at various points where we could benefit from the shade of the trees, as it was a hot sunny day. By the time we reached the top of the hill, we already had all the historical background. The story telling was comprehensive, with a little joke here and there to keep a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

Incredible tour. Perfect group size, knowledgeable guide, very patient and a good sense of humour. We felt very involved in the tour and there was ample opportunity to take photos. Would highly recommend this tour. At the risk of being incorrect, I think our guide was named ‘Annie’ or something like that.

An extremely knowledgeable tour guide. We learned so much and the pace was very manageable (even in the heat and with the steep incline). I'd recommend going to the Acropolis Museum before the tour just for additional context. But plan to take pictures on your own -- the guide isn't going to stop and point out best places to take them or take them for you.

There's always more to learn

I really enjoy history and I've leisurely read about Athens and the acropolis over the years. I've visited the local museums and the acropolis itself several times. So what made this tour so great? An experienced guide like Vicky can point things out, stop you in specific locations, and give you context that books simply cannot. For example, where did the Venetians precisely position themselves when attacking the Ottoman garrison that resulted in the Parthenon suffering a devastating explosion? Why was a sanctuary of Asklepios constructed, and where? What unique events are famed to have occurred at the Erechtheion and what are the precise locations for those events? It was a pleasure to learn about these and other interesting facts and to have the opportunity to ask an archeologist all about it. Take the tour; you won't regret it!

Loved this Tour to the Acropolis !!!

Loved this tour! Climbing is involved but the tour guide takes it slow with plenty of stop along the way. The history was fascinating and the ancient buildings on top of the acropolis were amazing to see up close. Plenty of time at the top for pictures and exploring. Note: super windy up there so the wind kicks up the dust a bit. Might want to have some eye drops back at the hotel. Loved this tour!!

The Acropolis—-through the lenses of the Athenians

Natasha was an awesome tour guide!!! She explained the history of the Acropolis in a very nice conversational and engaging tone. Although I have been to the Acropolis before, I learned a lot of new things through this exceptional guided tour. The timing was just right—-not too little and not too long. Only recondition we have is fir clearer instruction on the rendezvous point. There are two Fresco Yogurt places by the Acropolis and we frantically had to get to the correct location and almost missed out on our guided tour!

Daphne was a great and very knowledgeable guide. I learned a lot about the history of all the structures. One small thing- I didn’t realize we would exit a different route so I missed a couple of photos I had planned to take on the way out. But, that was my error!

Fantastic tour of acropolis led by guide Elli. She is extremely knowledgeable and brings the acropolis experience to life. We went on a hot day but most stops were in the shade. Definitely need sunglasses, hat and camera. Very memorable experience, highly recommend.

Such a great tour! I came to the Acropolis in 2013 and walked it myself. This time in 2021 we did the tour and it was SO much better!!! So interesting to hear the stories about Ancient Greece and the history of the Acropolis.
