Private countryside tour: the highlights of Holland with guide and transport

We had a great experience with our driver. Enjoyed the country side and small town details we would of never found going it alone. Fantastic food as well!

As soon as our guide picked us up the adventure began. He quickly determined where we'd spend most time according to our interests (can't get that in large group). There were quiet private walks, followed by a relaxing car ride to next destination all the time answering our questions as only a local can. I would definitely set aside one day for this Holland tour.

Teun was an amazing and extremely knowledgeable tour guide who was full of information and history. This day could not have gone better because it was packed with all of the most important sights in Holland as well as a few local sights away from tourists which was exactly what we were looking for. We highly recommend this tour and would love to have Teun as a guide again!

Stop! Look no further. This tour was a pleasure from beginning to end. I have never written a review before but feel compelled to write my first. Our guide, Teun, grew up skating the canals and lakes outside Amsterdam. His knowledge of the area is deep and wide providing so much texture to the experience. He is Was flexible and willing to adapt the tour in the moment to what we wanted and to unexpected changes. Three examples: First, six days before the tour I asked him if he could arrange a bike ride in the countryside from Edam to a cheese farm. No problem! The bike ride ended up being the highlight of the day. Second, we changed hotels at 11:00p the night before the tour. He was there in the morning at the appointed time at the new hotel. Third, local authorities cancelled a local fair that we were planning to see that mid-morning. He adapted and provided another experience. We visited a working windmill at the heritage sight Zaanse Schans, tasted excellent cheese, road bikes along the dike between towns, enjoyed a lakeside picnic that he put together for us, got us on the Marken Ferry and finished with a visit to a small charming town off the beaten path where tourists do not venture. He grew up skating in the area! We tasted the local ice cream (delicious) and the local beer & wine. Due to the festival cancellation our adapted schedule ran long by an hour and a half. Again, no problem and no additional cost. Teun went out of his way to ensure every little detail was just right. His enthusiasm for the countryside and ensuring our experience was first rate was infectious. We have hired private guides all over the world. Teun was the best ever!
