We didn't know what to expect on this tour .. Our guide Monica was excellent . It was the best tour of our Norway vacation. Monica made the country come to life with wonderful details and stories.. .The museum was a wonderful way to learn about life in Norway . Super interesting. Monica has a pleasant voice and spoke so well.. It was fun to listen to her.

This was a full day of sightseeing. It was very enjoyable as the guide was very knowledgable and fun to be with. It certainly encompassed the area. The high light of the tour was when we were out at the lighthouse waiting to reboard our bus. The queen of Norway walked by us as she headed up to the lighthouse. It was an unofficial visit from her so there was no fanfare. Monica our guide was so excited! A very happy memory!

This tour went to great places! But the BEST was Monica, our tour guide. She made the tour with interesting and helpful information and wonderful stories about the places. Her English was amazing and her knowledge was very impressive. We learned a lot about the country and area and how people live. We don't usually like big bus tours but this was excellent for one. Would highly recommend it. It helped that it was a beautiful sunny day.

Alesund is a picturesque city in the middle of even more picturesque fjords. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and knew how to give a tour so that it sounded like a story. Islands, bridges, color, and even a Norwegian Romeo and Juliet story! Loved it! Loved it!

Alesund ultimate sightseeing tour

Anita was fabulous! She was so well informed and gave so many extra anecdotes and stories about the city. I think it is now my most favorite city in Norway. It was just the right length of time and it was a good combination of “on and off” the bus. There was a little surprise for us at the end of the tour too. Anita was right there as we got off our ship to meet us with a smile, even thought it was raining.a great tour experience, and I will book with aviator again.

Did Not Find Much to See

We went to the Fish Museum. It was a waste of time. The guide did not explain anything and not being able to read Norwegian, we could not read the information on the walls. Not that there was much to see. The supposed boat simulator was broken. so the only interesting part was left for us to look at. We went to a lookout that we could have gotten to from the ship. The picture of the lighthouse in the description was not viewed on this tour. The lighthouse that we did see by the Fish Museum was locked and climbing to the "top" was not available. Sunmore Open Museum was nice, but after a short narration, we were left on our own and did not learn anything about the boats on display. When I asked were certain outdoor homes were located, I could not get the information. Overall we were not pleased and would like to see a refund for this excursion since it did not adequately cover the sights listed.

We booked The ultimate sightseeing tour in advance in English and at the end of the day it was a multi lingual trip which means that we had to hear the explanations in 3 different languages. We arrived to Alesund on a rainy day so sometimes we just waited in the rain for explanations in other languages. Most of the trip was dedicate to 2 Museums and all in all not a great day/

Great general tour of Alesund

This was a very good overall trip in Alesund. Gave a good amount of information and a good opportunity to see quite a bit in a short period of time. The directions for the initial meeting point were very unclear and tour was delayed a bit for people who could not find where to go. Turns out, the representative was right on the cruise ship pier as we walked off ... many people walked by because we were given an address in town.

Good cross view of Asuland and other islands. Anita was an excellent guide. We had good stops for pictures. I wished we were able to go into the marble church, but other photo stops were excellent.

The tour covered some lovely places in Alesund, however our guide from Norwegian Adventures was not the best. She left us at the museum and went for a coffee after a quick walk around the open air part of the Sunmore Museum. During the day she could have provided much more information and appeared more interested in her job. We felt like she was just filling in time until retirement. A more motivated guide would have enhanced our experience.

This was a nice tour, less expensive than the same tour from the cruise line. Nice tour of the area, great photo stops, and good commentary from the guide.

The tour was very interesting an well run. We went to the top of 'crowded' Mt Aksla first up, then to the open air museum and thence to the two islands where we climbed the lighthouse and finally a short drive thru the town and back to the ship. The tour guide was from mainland Europe but she lived on one of the islands and knew her stuff well. The tour is complemented by walking through the streets and admiring the Art Nouveau buildings yourself.
