The Basics

The waters surrounding Caye Caulker are a mecca for marine life. Spend time exploring the coral reefs, seagrass beds, and shark habitats of Hol Chan Marine Reserve on a half-day tour from either Belize City or Caye Caulker, which typically includes hotel pickup and drop-off and a barbecue lunch accompanied by rum-based drinks. To see more marine life, take a boat trip to the Swallow Caye Wildlife Sanctuary, home to rescued manatees.

Amazing experience

Hol Chan Marine Reserve Snorkel and Caye Caulker Tour 40' Sirena Azul Sailboat
This experience was amazing. The crew was so friendly and helpful and attentive. The snorkeling was full of sights and close to the coast. The side trip to Caye Caulker was wonderful. My wife and I took our two daughters, 5 and 9, and they had a great time as well. Really can’t say enough about this experience and how it was just perfect in every way. A day we will always remember.

Hol Chan Marine Reserve Snorkel and Caye Caulker Tour 40' Sirena Azul Sailboat
My group of girlfriends and I had a great Saturday with the Sirena Azul team! They were amazing at helping us while snorkeling and suggesting places during our stop at Caye Caulker. They provided entertainment and fun during the sail and were very professional. I would definitely highly recommend this boat tour!

Amazing day with awesome crew

Hol Chan Marine Reserve Snorkel and Caye Caulker Tour 40' Sirena Azul Sailboat
The crew was fantastic. I’d read reviews from early last year but they were all pre-covid. I believe we were the first full day trip since covid shut down last year. The crew said they weren’t sure what would be reopened on Caye Caulker but gave us recommendations on where to eat. The snorkeling in the morning was awesome. Having never snorkeled before I was worried but no problems. Beautiful reef and great tour guide that gave us so many names of animals. Saw sea turtles, sting rays, tangs, nurse sharks, snapper, etc. The feeding of nurse sharks was awesome too. At Caye Caulker there weren’t a lot of tourist shops open yet due to lack of tourism. Had lunch at The Split. Great spot for lunch, watched people jump in the water from the tower, swim up bar, beautiful water. Nice lazy 2 hour ride home where we napped on the bow. Can’t say enough about how friendly and knowledgeable the staff were. Just awesome.

A day very well spent

Hol Chan Marine Reserve Snorkel and Caye Caulker Tour 40' Sirena Azul Sailboat
Hol Chan is an incredible variety of sea life, and the mastery of the Sirena Azul's crew is top notch. We were 2 of 6 on a very windy day (20+ knots). We trusted the crew to show us a great, safe time, and they delivered. The diving expertise of the first mate was something to behold as he spotted sting rays, coaxed out a moray eel, and brought a huge barracuda out of hiding for us to see, and the captain managed the Sirena Azul with a casual confidence. Caye Caulker is a bit limited in options for only a two hour stay, but anything longer would lead to an exhaustingly long day for all. Thank you David and Victor, this was a highlight of our trip!

This was an amazing day trip! Victor and Carlos were absolutely fabulous and showed us such beautiful fish, sharks, and stingrays. The most wonderful snorkeling and beautiful coral reef. Amazing to be face-to-face with sharks! The 2 hours in Caye Caulker were just enough to experience the charming town and visit shops and eat delicious food.

I wish we had done this trip on day one so I had time to go again. The list of marine life we saw up clise is too long to name! The coral was incredible. The sea turtle was a pleasant surprise. Shark Ally was once in a lifetime experience. And our crew, loved each one of them! The way we were made into guided groups really enhanced the experience and education about what we were seeing. Simply a must do!

Relaxing trip of snorkeling

Hol Chan Marine Reserve Snorkel and Caye Caulker Tour 40' Sirena Azul Sailboat
This was a relaxing trip on a sailboat to snorkel at Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley. The boat moved along at a relaxed pace, which was fun since the day was beautiful and allowed us to enjoy the scenery. We were guided around Hol Chan's reefs. The reefs were good. They looked a little tired, but worth visiting. Next, we went to Shark Ray Alley where they threw chum into the water with us snorkeling up close to watch. Nurse sharks and different rays feed, along with smaller fish. It is neat to watch and maybe a little unnerving. Seeing a shark in the distance can be a little unsettling, but nurse sharks are relatively safe. Next we went to Caye Caulker for a relaxing lunch and had time to walk around and take in the sites. It was nice to see a different island with a different feel. The only slight downside to the trip was that the wind wasn't enough to really sail, but the sails were deployed to give us some shade. It worked. Well worth taking the trip. We all enjoyed ourselves.

A Relaxing Experience - Incredible Crew Members

Hol Chan Marine Reserve Snorkel and Caye Caulker Tour 40' Sirena Azul Sailboat
Let me start saying that the stars of this trip are the Crew Members. Captain Charlie did a terrific job. He took a lot of patience and good care of our daughter. They are very respectful and customer oriented. These guys makes a very positive impact on the tour, they both know their business seriously. Sail boat is relaxing, you just let the wind to do the job. We had a blast in Hol Chan, snorkels were functioning perfect. The fish view is outstanding, nice area for a family with a young kid. The Shark Ray Alley was kind of fast, I wish we should have had a little bit more of time. But definitively so much fun with the Nurse Sharks and Eaglerays. Caye Caulker seems more for Party Boys and Girls. But it is a lovely Island. Seafood is always fresh. From the tour execution I would say Excellent, however there is only one major suggestion, the people in the office should have better communication especially when there is a tour day change. We left messages on the phone that were not replied back.
