LocaLocal - Market tour and Israeli cooking workshop
9
LocaLocal is not your everyday Tel Aviv food tour. It is a slice of real Tel Aviv. It is a truly local experience, a way for you to use all of your senses and connect intimately with the local culture and food.
Together we'll explore the neighborhood, learn it's secrets spots that only the locals know, meet interesting people that live and work in the neighborhood, taste a few iconic dishes in restaurants in the area, buy groceries at the market, and go to my home where you'll learn how to cook authentic Israeli food.
The cooking class will be followed by a full Israeli meal (wine and drinks included) in my beautiful garden.
By the end of the day, you will know about Tel Aviv (and especially Kerem HaTeimanim neighborhood), experience the local Carmel Market to its fullest and most importantly, have a belly full of authentic Israeli food that you can now cook by yourself, anywhere.

Israeli Cooking Class
4
My cooking class is done at my home in a small and intimate group. We'll cook everything together with my guidance, but you'll do most of the cooking yourself.
I'll teach you how to use different techniques to cook in an easy and efficient way that you'll easily be able to redo back home. I'll teach you how to pick your ingredients and you'll get some of the spices we'll use to take back home with you.
Through the cooking class, you'll learn about the Israeli cuisine and the Israeli culture (that revolves a lot around food).
The menu will be adjusted to your preferences (meat-eaters, pescatarian, vegetarians and vegans and any other dietary restrictions).

Traditional Jewish Challah bread workshop and brunch
1
About your host Keren:
"As traditionally, every Friday I bake challah and yeast cakes for Shabbat dinner, There is nothing like the smell of fresh bread and cakes that floods the house on Friday afternoon! At the end of the workshop, we will sit for a light meal accompanied by all the pastries we made, vegetables, local cheese, and homemade spreads. The workshop is held in my kitchen, in a bright and beautiful patio, in one of the most beautiful and authentic neighborhoods of Jaffa. We will gather around the table and exchange energy, laugh, taste delicious food and wine, have a lot of fun …and yes, learn to bake."

Alternative Shabbat with TLV Hipsters & Artists
We'll spend the evening in a large home in the heart of Tel Aviv, in a neighborhood of Neve Tzedek, five minutes from Jaffa and the beach. The room is air conditioned and spacious, fitting up to 30 people. We sit on mattresses. You are required to sing along. Be forewarned. Earplugs will not be supplied.
We begin with a general introduction about Shabbat as we young Jewish guys in Israel see it, and the role of “Tikkun Olam” in our day-to-day life (Tikkun Olam is a concept in Judaism of “improving the state of the world”).
We then sing some songs and sometimes play a game or two, before breaking into smaller conversations, which evolve naturally with the (new) friends seated next to you.
The AlternativeShabbat was created by a team of artists and educators with the goal of developing a fun evening program for incoming tourists of all backgrounds to experience an authentic Friday night in the city of sins ;)
