Happy Valley Shenzhen
Opened in 1998, Happy Valley Shenzhen is an 86-acre (35-hectare) theme park in the Nanshan District of Shenzhen. Highlights among the park’s more than 100 rides and attractions are Shooting the Chute, one of the highest free falls in the world; Xueshan Fei Long, China’s first suspended roller coaster; and the Space Shuttle screaming tower.
The Basics
Happy Valley Shenzhen is divided into nine themed areas—Spanish Square, Cartoon City, Mt. Adventure, Gold Mine Town, Shangri-la Woods, Sunshine Beach, Typhoon Bay, Happy Times, and the Playa Maya Water Park (open from May to October). A tourist train (tickets extra) transports passengers through the park from one area to the next. Visitors can choose between a standard admission ticket and a night ticket, which offers discounted entry for the last part of the day.
Things to Know Before You Go
Happy Valley Shenzhen is a must-visit for families and thrill seekers.
Book tickets in advance to skip the line and make the most of your time inside.
Several local and international restaurants operate locations within the park, including Pizza Hut, KFC, and Starbucks.
How to Get There
To get to Happy Valley Shenzhen, take the Shenzhen subway (line 1 or 2) to Window of the World Station and leave through exit A. You can also take bus 101 from the Shenzhen Railway Station.
When to Get There
While many of Happy Valley’s attractions are indoors, you’ll get the most out of your visit on a dry day. Avoid visiting on weekends and public holidays (particularly Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival), when entrance lines and ride queues can get long.
Live Shows at Happy Valley
A big draw to Happy Valley is its lineup of live stage shows, hosted throughout the day on the park’s stages. Highlights include Tunnel Warfare live-action-filming performance, Top-Notch Teenagers extreme-sports stunt show, and the kid-friendly City of Fantasy.
