The Basics

The San Antonio Zoo ranks among the city’s most popular family attractions. Highlights of the zoo include the world’s largest collection of birds, as well as non-animal exhibits, such as the Zootennial Carousel and San Antonio Zoo Eagle, a train that takes you from the zoo to other attractions in Brackenridge Park. Enter on a basic admission ticket or book a Fun Day Ticket that includes admission, a ride on the carousel, and a range of enhanced animal experiences.

Nice visit but a couple things could be better.

We had a nice visit, just wish some more concessions were open. Also we pre-paid and it was not easy to find out how we should enter. The zoo was clean and we would recommend it to others

The flamingos are always a favorite. Haven’t been on a carousel in years and it didn’t disappoint. Clean, animals were well taken care of. Staff members very friendly and cautious of mask requirements. Great time!

The whole experience was awesome but my great grandchildren loved feeding the giraffes. And I loved that the zoo actually did not smell like animals lol

Our family of three enjoyed every part of our experience at the San Antonio zoo. Worth every penny. Even the fact that there are police officers from, San Antonio P.D. reassures your sense of security if you were to lose a child or feel threatened in any way.

Viator saved us about $50 off ticket prices at the zoo for 5 people. They provided options for online and printed tickets and sent reminder e-mails. I was pleased with their service.

My wife and I went to the SA Zoo and buying the tickets through Viator saved us money and time (at least an hour of waiting in the ticket line). Which made my wife happy, which made me VERY happy that evening.😉

Wonderful zoo in an amazing city! Go and do some of the experiences you can have interacting with the animals. So much expansion coming, it’s worth going back!

My family had a great time at the zoo. It wasn’t too hot outside and most of the animals were actually out so we could see them.

Conservation at the San Antonio Zoo

The San Antonio Zoo is known for its breeding programs for endangered and threatened species. Indeed, it was the first zoo to successfully reproduce the rare white rhinoceros in North America. The zoo emphasizes conservation and employs high standards of plant and animal care. It was one of the first in the United States to have cageless habitats.
