Mt. Hood Railroad Tours

Mt. Hood Railroad
The Mt. Hood Railroad is the home of the scenic train trips that can be taken in the area around Portland. The train runs between Hood River (about 60 miles east of Portland) and Parkdale. There are some freight trips, but it's predominantly a passenger train for tourist excursions through the beautiful countryside.

There are a variety of train excursions that can be booked on the Mt. Hood Railroad, including dinner outings with a murder mystery or Western “train robbery” theme. There are also brunch trains, romance trains and trips that simply let passengers take in the scenery to and from Parkdale.
All Mt. Hood Railroad trips are round-trip to and from the Mount Hood Railroad depot in Hood River. The trains run from April through October, though the schedule varies by season, so check the calendar for your visit. Trips depart from Hood River at 11 a.m. and return at 3:30 p.m. Tickets vary in price, from $30-55 for the simple excursion trains to $85 for some of the themed trains, and seats are pre-assigned.
