The Basics

Most Rio Secreto tours leave from Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Tulum, and other Riviera Maya destinations. At the nature reserve, you can tour the underground river, visit the famous Crystal Caves, and learn about ancient Maya legends. Combo tours combine a visit to Rio Secreto with other activities, such as early-access visits to the Tulum ruins, mountain biking excursions, or ATV tours.

Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure
This was such an amazing experience and I highly recommend it to everyone. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the transportation was kind of messy. Either than that, it was great!

The service was very good. The tour guide was very professional and very knowledgeable. He was very friendly and actually fun to be around. We love swimming in the underground river. From Cancun: Rio Secreto Wild Tour with Lunch
After a bumpy start of us being forgotten for pickup, the tour itself was amazing. Our guide was Ari and he was amazing. He did a fantastic job explaining all of the history and keeping us all on track. Jose was our photographer and he provided us some amazing shots of our family of 6. We got close to 150 pictures so the photo package was absolutely worth it. This experience is an absolute must. You will not regret it. The only thing that would have made it better if I had to give an improvement would be to take some photos in the dry cave as well. There was some amazing formations in there. Thanks for an awesome time.

Rio Secreto Underground River Tour with Crystal Caves
Unforgettable! Benito was our guide. Explained everything, including the science of the formations and he was even part of the discovery of the caves. Got picked up at the ferry dock because we stayed in Cozumel. Some of the reviews show people had trouble with this - I have to think it was them! Just make sure you call them to get things set up and then check your email daily.. My wife also has food allergies that they accommodated. Seamless and fun!

Río Secreto Nature Reserve from Playa del Carmen
Incredible experience! About a two hour hike and swim through the caverns followed by a tasty lunch. Definitely need to be fit to do this excursion with no fear of the dark or small spaces.
