The Basics

There are many ways to explore the park, though a majority of visitors do so by driving a 34-mile (55-kilometer) scenic loop through the popular Island in the Sky district. The Needles district attracts hikers, while the Maze rewards those who make the effort to get there with remote slot canyons and stunning rock formations. The Green and Colorado rivers set the scene for relaxing rafting trips.

If you are pressed for time, you can see the park’s highlights in a day—or even as little as half a day—on a tour from Moab. A more leisurely schedule enables you to see the park as part of a multi-day tour from Las Vegas or Salt Lake City through a star-studded lineup of Arizona and Utah parks: Zion, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, Capitol Reef, Arches, and the Grand Canyon.

Incredible experience! A MUST DO!
This was a last minute thought and we were so thankful to get the one spot left! Our tour guide was Rocky and he was amazing! He was informative, entertaining, knowledgeable, accommodating and just made the trip perfect! His driving through Shafer Trail, which was the most spectacular and a little scary as well, was calming and professional. The views were beyond description and Rocky knew the best places to stop and take time to drink it all in. One of the most memorable experiences of my lifetime and one I hope I never forget!

Canyonlands National Park Half-Day Tour from Moab
Our guide John was the best part of our trip and an excellent guide. We could not have asked for anyone better. His knowledge snd history of Moab and the surrounding areas was amazing. The best parts of the tour were 1. Riding up the switchbacks, 2. The view where Thelma and Louise was filmed, 3. Mussulman Arch, 4. The Indian etchings on the cliffs, 5. The beautiful 360 views during the entire trip, 6. The view overlooking the Colorado River, 7. The salt lakes.

Blaine was our tour guide, he did a great job. We had a good time, saw some beautiful Vistas. Blaine was well informed and made sure we knew the history of the park. My husband is afraid of heights and Blaine was especially caring of his fear, he drove slowly on the frightening parts of the road. We are grateful for his caring, expertise and knowledge.

The App was on point. I love the narration of the histories and scientific facts provided. It was very helpful and made us feel that we have our own private guide during the whole tour.

We had a number of memorable moments on the tour. First, Paulina overall was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant, and took some nice photos of our family along the way. The sites to which we took us were also great - the Canyonlands view was amazing, and the sunset was gorgeous. Paulina also gave us great insight for our time in Arches the next day.
