The basics

As per tradition, Hammam Al Ándalus Málaga has cold, warm, and hot baths, as well as a steam room and relaxation area where you can sip traditional mint tea. A typical session at the spa includes time in the various pools, followed by a hot stone and kessa (traditional Arabic glove) massage.

Available packages allow you to choose the duration of your massage and pick the essential oil you’d prefer to be treated with. You’re free to move freely around the hammam during your 90-minute session, and are notified when it’s time for your massage.

This was an experience enjoyed by my two daughters and their partners who had not been to a hamman before. All 4 enjoyed the calm and restful nature of the hamman

Arabian Baths Experience at Malaga’s Hammam Al Andalus
The location is so authentic you feel like are stepping back in time from the facilities to the aromas and amazing staff (Daniel scrubbed bad memories off of me🤣) Pro tip if you are getting a massage or a scrub wear a bathing suit that allows easy access for a back scrub for example. There are no private rooms so if you look to the side you see people getting their services. Not bad just not typical set up.

Arabian Baths Experience at Malaga’s Hammam Al Andalus
This was my second visit the first three years ago. It was better than expected, normally your second visit is less than expected in this time it was better. The only thing I missed was the cushions when you have a tea. Also I would love to use my sandals. Going batefoot I think it is dangerous. I have a broken shoulder and I wanted to use my sandals to avoid any slippery, bit Iwas not permitted.

Arabian Baths Experience at Malaga’s Hammam Al Andalus
Relaxing, tranquil, and a good experience. The message was nice but not deep enough for me. It would have been helpful if offered options for different messages (light, heavy, etc...).

Moorish culture in Malaga

Málaga was a major port city under the Moorish occupation of Spain, and that heritage remains evident today. No trip to the city is complete without a visit to the Alcazaba, one of the most famous buildings in Spain. Another landmark for travelers with an interest in Spain’s Moorish history is the Castle of Gibralfaro (Castillo de Gibralfaro) perched on a hilltop overlooking the city. This imposing castle dates back to the 10th century.
