Cameron Highlands

The Basics

Options for visiting the Cameron Highlands are plentiful, due to the region’s status as one of Malaysia’s most popular getaway destinations. Multi-day tours, which range from two to four days, allow you to soak up the region’s beauty at a relaxed pace and typically combine the highlands with a visit to Taman Negara, the biggest national park in the country. If you’re pushed for time, you can tick off the Cameron Highlands and Batu Caves in just one day.

Private Full Day Cameron Highlands Nature Tour from Kuala Lumpur
Shahrin was our guide and he was 5 stars. It was a Saturday and he knew traffic would get bad. He got us to the top of the mountain early without traffic and worked our way down. There was a backup of nearly 5 km going up as we were going down. Views were spectacular. Wonderful strawberries and tea. His English was good and easy to understand. He went out of is way to find us interesting fruit and vegetables to try. Excellent local lunch. Had a great 5 star day with Shahrin

Cameron Highlands Sunrise Discovery and Morning Tea Tour
Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable of the area and of the tea plantations. Was a great way to start the day to watch the sunrise over the the Boh Tea Plantation, then we went for a walk in the Mossy Forest which had amazing views of the countryside. We finished off at Boh Tea Plantation, the only thing I would have liked was a bit more time at the plantation as it felt a bit rushed.

Experience Real Cameron Highland from Ipoh
thanks to Jaies, our guide, we discovered the true nature of the Cameroon Highlands, the moss forest and tea plantations, and its processing by visiting the factory. it was just what we were looking for, without unnecessary stops at shops and attractions like the insect farm or the garden and nature culture. our guide was attentive to driving and very prepared, willing to tell us and make us appreciate the culture of his territory. thanks Jaies

Full-day Cameron Highlands Day Trip from Kuala Lumpur
It was great tour, our driver Tina was the best driver/tour guide which I ever met. He told us so a lot of interesting information about Malaysia. His driving abilities was very professional and it was very good car with air condition. Driver always was very polite and was ready to make a stop at any time if necessary. He arrived to our hotel 10 minutes before our tour start. Cameron Highlands with it's tea plantations was super great. We were very happy with this tour, recommend to any who is interested to see nice nature of Malaysia and learn a lot of things about it's culture and people.

Experience Real Cameron Highland from Ipoh
Wow what an experience visiting the Cameron Highlands with Jais. The tour was great right from when Jais picked us up he was very accomodating and informative for the entire tour. The tour takes you into the Cameron Highlands of Malaysia. We visited some of the countries most well known and scenic tea plantations. Jais was able to explain the tea making process from the production of tea leaves until it reaches the consumer. The views across the tea plantations are breath taking you will not stop taking photos. We also did a side trip up to the magnificent Mossy Forest. This is a rain forest that is approximately 2000mtrs high in elevation. Here a private guide will explain the native flora and how it adapts to the climate. The walk through Mossy Forest is something not to be missed. The tour also takes you to a local market where you can meet local residents selling fruits, vegetables, souvenirs and much more. The tour also includes a visit with the local Orang Asli indigenous tribe and a final stop at the beautiful Late Escanola waterfall. Jais is a great tour guide and is very accomodating I would highly recommend a tour with him.

Viator and trip coordinator should advise customer regarding public holidays and advise them into where they are supposed to be heading rather than getting stuck in traffic for hours and not even reach Cameron Highlands. The trip took a spontaneous detour when our amazing and kind tour guide Kevin decided to change the trip route and took us to other places, and it was amazing experience. Kevin was so kind by offering us presents before we ended the trip which really touched the bottom of our hearts. Kevin buddy thank you very much from bottim of our hearts you are really an amazing person and we recommend you to anyone anytime.

The Culture of the Cameron Highlands

As well as offering a plethora of natural beauty, the Cameron Highlands also boast a rich cultural heritage. There’s no better place to delve into this history than the Time Tunnel, which re-creates bygone eras with vintage products. Sam Poh Temple, one of the area’s main Buddhist temples, reflects the cultural diversity of the hill station, while Mah Meri Art Gallery pays homage to Malaysia’s indigenous communities.
