The Basics

Wildlife galore
What a great trip! We saw several dolphins, a manatee, a sea turtle and two rays jump out of the water. Captain Joe said it was one of the best trips he had in recent days. We all agree!

Our Captain was very knowledgeable and witty. Her assistant, Valerie was terrific too! The two of them made our day! Beautiful scenery and very relaxing. It makes you appreciate nature~! We saw some dolphins, fish and birds. The wildlife or the inhabitants weren't ready to make an appearance. That was alright though, we still enjoyed what we saw.

It was an absolutely amazing experience! The captain was very knowledgeable about all of the animals and history of what we were seeing. He knew what spots to look for dolphins in and even got them to jump in the wake of our boat! I highly recommend this tour!

Could only book 3 hour more expensive tour, others booked, and were brought back 45 minutes early, guess that was our tip to the captains, the higher price per person we paid.

The First Settlers

Native Americans inhabited the Ten Thousand Islands region more than 3,500 years ago. Many shell rings and a few settlements have been found in or next to the region, such as the Horr’s Island archaeological site, but have been flooded by rising sea levels. The area was once good for fishing and trading, but after European settlers arrived in the area, the native populations were wiped out by foreign diseases and disputes.
