Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Glacier Hiking (from Djúpivogur)
We will pick you up from the port in Djúpivogur. Then, we will head to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Jökulsárlón is a large glacial lake on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park. Floating on the lagoon are enormous icebergs, moving with the waves towards the river mouth. The white and blue icebergs give off a calming crackling sound as they float around in the lagoon. You will have plenty of time to take in the views from shore.
From here, you will hop onto a monster truck which will bring you to the foot of the largest glacier in Europe for your glacier hiking (or Blue Ice Cave Exploration).
Blue Ice Cave is a rare and hugely popular part of winter in Iceland. This tour is for anyone who would like to explore the little-seen phenomenon of a naturally formed ice cave or anyone who wants to feel the frosty air on their cheeks as they enjoy the wilderness of Iceland.
As the day comes to an end, we will drop you off at the port in Djúpivogur.

Glacier Hike and Kayaking Combination
The ultimate adventure! Hike to a glacier lagoon, paddle in between icebergs, and hike up onto the glacier!
The kayak that you will use is an inflatable boat called a packraft, a lightweight, one-person boat that is small enough to fit in a backpack. Our packrafts are pontoon-style, extremely buoyant and incredibly stable single-person boats. Packrafts are easy to paddle and whilst there is very little chance that users will tip out all users wear a provided dry suit and personal flotation device (PFD) for safety. At the beginning of the tour you will be issued with your drysuit, packraft, paddle and PFD in a backpack which you will need to carry to and from the glacier lake. All of this equipment is very portable and weighs less than 10kg.
Please note!
Drysuits must be worn on this tour and we have a limited size range available. We can accommodate for people with a height range between 150cm (5 ft) and 193cm tall (6’4 ft).
