The Basics

One of Da Nang’s major landmarks, Son Tra Mountain and its monkeys feature on many tours, which usually combine a drive to the summit with a stop at Marble Mountains, home to limestone caves filled with shrines to Lord Buddha; the archeological complex of My Son Sanctuary; and Dragon Bridge, which breathes fire on Friday and Saturday nights. It's possible to reach the mountaintop on foot in a 4-hour trip by taking the hiking trail from Bai Bac Beach.

The best transfer from Hue to Hoi An possible!
What a great transfer! Hòa, our driver, picked us up from our homestay in Hue and during the trip, we were able to see and enjoy all the attractions along the way! We especially loved the break at Lady Buddha and Marble Mountain. The best part of our transfer was Hòa though, he knew so much and was so genuine. It was so hot at Marble Mountain that when we came back to the car, he had bought ice cold water for us. He was very patient and funny and we felt really comfortable.

Hue to Hoi An or Hoi An to Hue by car via Hai Van pass, monkey mountain, beaches
Highly recommend this - Hai van pass was stunning and we visited so many other amazing places (e.g Monkey Mountain and giant Lady Buddha, Marble Mountain etc) along the way. Our journey was made even better by our fantastic guide (and now friend) Vu! Vu was super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and a downright awesome human being.

Hue to Hoi An or Hoi An to Hue by car via Hai Van pass, monkey mountain, beaches
We booked a ride from Hue that started at 1pm. We visited Lang Co beach and lagoon, Hai Van Pass, Monkey Mountain, checked into our hotel in Da Nang before proceeding to be dropped off at Hoi An. Our driver Vu was knowledgeable and shared on historical and cultural information of the region. He was ever ready to help take pictures! All in all, a flexible and enjoyable trip!

Private Tour at Marble Mountain and Monkey Mountain in Da Nang
OMG the best way to see Da Nang's beauty!! the Jeep was so much fun. The sights and sounds of Marble Mountain & Monkey Mountain will be with me forever. Wear sunscreen and bring a good hat that won't fly off. The food was great and the pagoda was amazing- this was everyone's favorite trip and we were there for almost 2 weeks. Guides were also top notch!

Guided Tour to Visit Marble Mountain,Lady Buddha Statue& Monkey Mountain by Jeep
Our guide Ty was very kind and knowledgeable- he answered all my children's endless questions on buddhism. He was flexible so we got to see all we wanted. The second half of the trip to see the red-shanked douc (one of the rarest primates in the world) was wonderful. We did not expect to see but we ended up seeing so much as a large male douc leaped over our jeep to travel to his friend and head to their sleep site. The afternoon tour time worked beautifully. Coming down the mountain through the evening mist was magical. I can not recommend this tour enough - after living in Vietnam many years and being a primatologist - I rarely take guided tours - but this was with every penny. Thank you

Scooter Adventure on Monkey Mountain
My husband and I took this tour and loved it! He rode his own scooter and I rode with one of the guides, Thanh. Thanh was a great person to ride with, he was very nice, educational, and a very safe driver. Tam was a wonderful guide who took us up to Monkey Mountain. We felt very safe the whole time. We stopped for lots of great photo opportunities along the way. Tam was very clever and helped me get the best poses ( my favorite was a yoga pose) at the most scenic places. We got to see monkeys up close which was such a treat, they are so cute. We stopped at a nice picnic spot for lunch, which was delicious. We had homemade burgers made by Tam's mom, you get a choice of beef, chicken, or veggie along with cold drinks. The view at the top of the mountain was amazing. On our way back, we stopped for a sugar cane drink and some grilled rice paper snacks which was really nice. Overall, I suggest you book this tour, you won't regret it!

Hue to Hoi An or Hoi An to Hue by car via Hai Van pass, monkey mountain, beaches
We couldn’t be happier with the experience John provided us. We traveled Hoi An to Hue. Marble Mtn is absolutely stunning. We were equally awed by Monkey Island. John’s English is very good and he shared lots of info with us. He knew all the places to stop for beautiful pics. Lunch was great. He even gave us recommendations of where to eat in Hue and they did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

Hue to Hoi An or Hoi An to Hue by car via Hai Van pass, monkey mountain, beaches
We had a very comfortable and interesting ride and tour from Huy to HoiAn. Our driver Dong was outstanding. He knew the politics, culture and history of Vietnam and was well versed in all of the sites we visited along the way. We stopped to take pictures along the way. Especially enjoyed Monkey Mountain stop. Unfortunately heavy rain detracted from fully enjoying Da Nang beaches and Marble Mountain.
