We will launch into the Indian river lagoon for a leisurely 90 minute paddle to see one of the oldest lifeforms on the planet. The Ctenophora (Comb-Jellyfish) is a predator that moves thru the waters of our bioluminescent bay with microscopic hairs called cilia. This predator will produce a bioluminescent discharge when disturbed. Once the waters of our lagoon drop below 76 degrees we will experience large blooms of these gelatinous beauties. Along with comb-jellyfish, we have a multitude of wildlife such as manatee, dolphin, alligators, wild hogs, otters, bobcats, sharks, and endangered birds that we may encounter while on tour!! Our Comb-jellyfish season generally lasts from November 1st to April 1st. These are the cooler months of our season, so it makes for pleasant weather to paddle in! We will be paddling in 1 of 5 bioluminescent bays in the world! Come see what the theme parks can't show you with this immersive and interactive tour.

* A traveler said: "Our guide, Pirate, was great. We did the 8pm bioluminescent tour. We saw some manatee shadows swim beneath us and some snouts as they surfaces for air. Several baby alligators. Then we came across several areas where the bioluminescent algae was pretty good. Pirate let us know that it was just getting into the season. So the luminescence was not a 100%. Still the paddles made “blue sparks” in the water. If you reach down and pull your arms out it looked like the blue sparks were running up and down the arms. Over all Pirate was very enjoyable, he had a lot of information and pointed out a lot wildlife and told us what to look for to help spot them ourselves. My girl and I had a lot of fun!"

Let us lead you on an amazing night time paddle adventure into the world of bioluminescence. It's a truly unique experience. We will paddle seated for a few minutes and everyone will be given lessons on how to SUP while taking in the sunset and practicing new paddleboarding skills. Please contact us if you would prefer a kayak. Our default vessels are paddleboards. We highly recommend this adventure on one of our super stable paddleboards. It gives you an amazing vantage point for the glowy show going on around you. You can sit if you like and the boards make it easy to put your hands in the water to experience the sparkles. After our stop to explore horseshoe crab island at sunset, we will paddle further and chase the jumping mullet, darting fish, and ghostly larger fish under the surface until our tour ends back at our launch site. Your tour guides will load vessels while you share pictures with new found friends.
