Phoenix Air Museum (Museo Aereo Fenix)
Located near Santiago de Cali, the Phoenix Air Museum (Museo Aereo Fenix) is the only civil aviation and railroad museum in Colombia. In addition to more than 25 full-sized aircraft, several locomotives, engines, and vintage cars, the museum also houses a large collection of scale models, including aircrafts, airports, and railways.
The Basics
On the ground floor of the museum located in a 2-story hangar, see aircraft from before World War II to the present day. A number of vintage cars are also on display. On the second floor, see more than 3,500 scale models, many set in dioramas. There are also two model airports, two working model railroads, and a collection of uniforms, wings, and airline cutlery. A few large jets, antique locomotives, and cars are parked outside.

The museum is ideal for families with kids, aviation and railway fans, and model enthusiasts.
Entrance tickets can be booked in advance.
Guided tours are available for groups.
There’s a souvenir shop and cafeteria on-site.
How to Get There
The museum is located at the north end of Alfonso Bonilla Aragón Airport, next to the Palmaseca Free Trade Zone. Parking is free. You can also take a taxi or a bus from Santiago de Cali or from Palmira.

When to Get There
The museum is open daily, with the exception of Jan. 1 and Dec. 25. Modeling workshops are held from time to time. It’s best to call ahead to avoid disappointment.
Museum Highlights
The aircraft are a mix of civilian and military planes from around the world, and include a DC-3, Stearman PT-17, Antonov An-2, and a rare Air & Space 18A Autogyro. There's also a replica of the Wright brothers' first plane. Classic cars include a Ford Model T and Buicks from the 1930s. Don’t miss one of the largest scale railroad models in the world, which recreates around 123 miles (198 kilometers) of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
