Haeundae Beach
The Basics
Most visitors to Busan make time to stop at this popular beach, and the beach is include on many sightseeing tours of the seaside Korean city. Haeundae Beach’s proximity to the city and its shallow, protected waters make it a popular spot for swimming in summer. Off the sand, find Folk Square, where locals gather to play Korean board games, and Dongbaek Park, a walking area on the west end of the beach.

Haeundae Beach is a must-see for summer visitors and families traveling with kids.
Showers, changing rooms, drinking fountains, and life guards are present along the beach.
Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat, as well as a towel if you plan to swim.
How to Get There
Haeundae Beach is situated along a shallow bay near the city center. To get there, take the Busan Subway (Line 2) to Haeundae Station. The beach is situated less than half a mile (500 meters) from exits 5 and 7. There is both public and private parking nearby.

When to Get There
Haeundae Beach is especially popular and crowded from late July to early August, when tourists from throughout Korea visit Busan for vacation. Swimming is allowed in June, July, and August, including night swimming on select evenings.
Sea Life Busan Aquarium
When visiting the beach, especially with family, plan a stop at Sea Life Busan Aquarium. South Korea’s largest aquarium is home to more than 10,000 aquatic plants and animals representing some 250 species. Among its highlights are a walk-through aquarium tunnel, animals such as penguins and otters, and a touch tank.
