The Basics

Alongside the National Museum of Contemporary Art, the Palace of Parliament also houses the Romanian Senate and Chamber of Deputies, the Museum of Communist Totalitarianism, and the Museum of the Palace. Tour the extravagant interior alongside a guide—both standard (hallways and main rooms) and extended (terraces and basement) options are available, depending how much you’d like to see.

A Palace of Parliament tour can also easily be combined with a half-, full-, or multi-day sightseeing excursion exploring top attractions in Bucharest, such as the Village Museum, Old Town Bucharest, and the Romanian Athenaeum.

This place is huge! Must be seen in person!
This place is huge! I was astounded by how much we did see and it was only 7%. The ceilings are a tall person's dream. The tour was filled with great information and the guide was excellent! Such a feat in architectural wonder! Make sure you have someone to take your photos while you stand next to everything in the corridors, rooms, and in front of the stairways and doors! Selfie sticks won't do the job. If you have a GoPro, bring it or anything that has a wide or ultrawide lens. You will leave there knowing why it is the heaviest building in the world and you can see it from space.

Palace of Parliament in Bucharest - fast-track tickets and guide
Guide was outside early, exactly where the email I received said she would be. Once inside, we were transferred to another guide who was excellent. He gave just the right amount of information and was very interesting. He even offered other sightseeing tips in Bucharest. Very professional!

Palace of Parliament in Bucharest - fast-track tickets and guide
Manuela was an excellent guide. We spent 3 hours walking around the city, visiting the major (and some quirkier) sites. It’s much more leisurely and infomative than a bus tour but be prepared: we covered 10km. Highly recommended.

Private Bucharest city tour visit the Palace of the Parliament & Village Museum
Excellent tour guide, Tudor with Rolandia Travel. We started with a tour of a local neighborhood. Then the National Parliament tour. After that the Village Museum which was okay. Then we had a quick lunch and skipped the tour of the old town for paying extra for a tour of Nikolai Ceaucescu's family home. Very interesting after seeing the National Parliament. Old town is easy to see on your own.

Private Bucharest city tour visit the Palace of the Parliament & Village Museum
The tour guide started by asking what I would like to see, gave me some additional choices, and then crafted a personalized itinerary. If you're looking for a private tour of Bucharest, paying a bit more gets you a much better experience. The tour was sprinkled with personal stories which made the tour all that more enjoyable.

Top Quality tour

Private Bucharest city tour visit the Palace of the Parliament & Village Museum
The price was good for 4 of us, but that was given even more value by the fact it was just the 4 of us on the tour. We were met at reception by Florin. He was very friendly and made it clear to us what the tour entailed and that flexibility was down to us, spend more time at X and maybe less at Y etc. We were then taken around Bucharest for a good 6 hours, including the fantastic Palace of Parliament, the Village Museum and many other sights of interest. The price included entrance to both these and both were very well worth seeing, the palace is truly stunning in scale. Florin had an extensive knowledge of Romanian history and was willing to answer any questions we had and to listen to our perspective of what we knew and had been presented about Romania through our lives......some very big gaps between Western eyes and the real feelings of Romanians at times. Thank you to Florin for making the whole day interesting and intriguing. Thank you to Viator for keeping up your record of ensuring the tours are of the highest quality and further enhancing the city-break experience.

wonderful introduction to Bucharest

Private Bucharest city tour visit the Palace of the Parliament & Village Museum
This full day tour served as our introduction to Bucharest and it far exceeded my expectations. Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable, supplemented the information at the visited sites with valuable additions and insights, answered all of our questions, and arranged our day so as to minimize waits, the oppressive heat and in an order that gave us the best one-day tour of the city. The Village Museum will give you a great start if you plan to explore beyond Bucharest and the Places of Parl. are simply a must! Alex was also a real wiz at Bucharest traffic, which can save the day, and to top it off, he had an amazing recommendation for dinner. Great tour, great guide.
