Plymouth Discovery Centre, Crabtree, Plymouth, Massachusetts, 02360

The Basics

Conveniently located between Boston and Cape Cod in the northeastern U.S., Plymouth is best known for the iconic Plymouth Rock, where the pilgrims first landed. But in addition to its historical monuments and museums, the town also offers a vibrant arts scene, beaches, parks, gardens, farmers’ markets, whale watching, and wildlife sanctuaries, as well as great dining and shopping.

Start your visit at the Visitors’ Center, where you can pick up a map and information about area events and attractions. Most people visit Plimoth Plantation, followed by the Plimoth Grist Mill, the Mayflower II, and Plymouth Rock (which is next to the ship). Be sure to grab a signature New England lobster roll before you head out of town.

Wonderful, informative, fun trip!!!
Kristen, our guide, was a wealth of knowledge on the local history. She was an excellent tour guide and went our of her way and off the beaten path to give us an exceptional touring experience of the local history. Our whole group of five was very impressed with her friendly personality, knowledge and willingness to share the rich heritage of the birthplace of our great nation. We will highly recommend this tour to our family and friends.

Visiting John Adams home and the Plymouth plantation was great. Bus was uncomfortable, we were stuck in the last row.

Kristin was great. She was entertaining and very knowledgeable about the area and history. We saw many sites, not just Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower. Would highly recommend if you have an extra day in Boston.

Boston to Plymouth Day-Trip with Plimoth Plantation, Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock
Great trip with Kristin as guide. She really was fantastic about giving us all information about areas both anecdotal and historical. She grew up in areas so great choice to guide. Only negative was several guests ignored the required masking policy and was never enforced. One person sat in the front row and never wore a mask as required yet was never told to do so. Either have a policy and enforce it or don’t.

Boston to Plymouth Day-Trip with Plimoth Plantation, Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock
The day was cold and rainy but our guide was enthusiastic and was so much fun as she shared her knowledge of history with us as we made our way to Plymouth. I enjoyed seeing the birthplace of President Adams, so many beautiful old homes, the Mayflower II was informative and Plymouth Rock was beautifully showcased.

Boston to Plymouth Day-Trip with Plimoth Plantation, Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock
tour guide, christie was fun and knowledgable, we were given ample time to view the different sites we visited. the only thing i would suggest would be letting prospective tourists wanting to take tours if you were making a breakfast stop or not. this tour made a stop at the 1st ever Dunkin Donuts, which was nice, but our martha's tour made a stop at a Mcdonalds....we could have gotten a extra hours sleep if we would have known these stops were going to be made....

The coast was beautiful and the history along the way was interesting. I would recommend this tour but I would have preferred going in reserve. Driving straight to Plymouth so we could see John Adams house on the way back. We were only able to view the gardens.
