The grounds surrounding the structure include the circular Echo Wall, which also encloses the Three Echo Stone, the Dialogue Stone, the East Annex Hall, and the West Annex Hall.

Hearing the Echo Stones

The Echo Wall offers several places where a whisper quiet sound can be heard elsewhere. At the Three Echo Stone, a sound will echo once if made on the first stone, twice if made on the second, and three times if made on the third. At the Dialogue Stone, you can have a conversation with someone standing at the northeast corner of the East Annex Hall or the northwest corner of the West Annex Hall.
