The Basics

A masterpiece of modernist design, Casa Batlló has become one of the city’s most memorable tourist attractions. The UNESCO-listed building stands on the famous Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona’s central avenue, and ranks among Gaudí’s most famous structures. Gaudí-themed tours of Barcelona almost always include a visit to the building, and visitors pressed for time can opt for skip-the-line access. Caso Batlló is often visited in combination with Gaudí’s other famous sites, including nearby Casa Mila (also known as La Pedrera), La Sagrada Familia, and the mosaic-filled Park Güell.

Skip the line is worth it
As one of the popular locations, skip the line ticket is worth the purchase. However, the audio guides are sooo long with somewhat good info, but mostly poetic description of the place and interviews… you can skip some parts of the guide and just spend more time to look around. The place is pretty small, so don’t rush it. With the way the building is built, it would look more beautiful in summer.

Casa Batllo was amazing! The exterior and interior are breathtaking. I knew nothing about this house so I learned so much. It's beautiful, unique, and the tour was great. The audio tour was so easy to use, clear, and informative. It even ended with an immersive art display which was amazing. Would definitely recommend!

Barcelona in a Day: Casa Batlló, Parc Güell, Sagrada Familia
Montse is one of the best guides we have had. I’ve taken may tours in different countries and she is by far at the very top of our list. The pace was exactly as expected and the sites were amazing. We loved La Sagrada Familia the best but we also enjoyed the walking tour through Old Town Barcelona and learning about all the history.

Gaudi Private Tour: Skip-the-Line Casa Batllo & Casa Mila-La Pedrera
Great tour with lots to see and learn! First, I'd like to thank Jorge, my guide, for making things in this tour so enjoyable! It turned out that I was the only tourist signed up, but he gave me the tour anyway. Both houses are remarkable. Each one has its own history and "personality." I don't think you can pick and choose which one is better, so I definitely recommend visiting both. Also, given that fact that the covid restrictions were still very much in place during the summer of 2021, I was able to find both houses kind of empty, so the tour was even more enjoyable that way! I'd strongly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about Gaudi's architecture--and personal life as well!

Gaudì Private Tour with Sagrada Familia and Casa Batllò
Our guide, Clara, was wonderful and very knowledgable. The private tour was very nice in the Sagrada Familia, but the Casa Battlo is very crowded and the private tour was not as enjoyable because it is hard to move around. Clara did her best.

Loved Casa Batllo

Tour with earbuds was wonderful. It is timed so that (unlike many narrated tours) it was not necessary to control the narration. The casa is beautiful and the narration explains Gaudi's vision for the house in great detail. Well worth the time to visit.

Gaudì Private Tour with Sagrada Familia and Casa Batllò
Wonderful, well informed guide. Great tour. Seems a little expensive as no taxi/vehicle transfers included. Meeting spot was too vague which made it difficult to meet up. The Cathedral is definitely a "not to miss" whilst in Barcelona.

Casa Batllo - must go inside!

Don't just walk by the incredible Casa Batllo - go inside. Every room on every floor is worth seeing. The audio description was good. Although it is a popular place, and therefore, a bit crowded, it was spacious enough to move around in the time we allotted to the house. Antonio Gaudi was a genius!

A good selection of buildings to see the progression of Mr. Gaudi’s work. Very knowledgeable guide who also was local. Small group and special access so tour was efficient, no waiting in lines. Learned so much.

The Legend of Saint George

Antoni Gaudí worked the legend of Saint George, the patron saint of Catalonia, into the architecture of Casa Batlló. Keep your eyes open for the back of the dragon pierced with Saint George’s sword, the balcony of the princess, and the skeletal remains of the dragon’s victims.
