See Bangalore through my eyes (Cultural / Historical / Walking Tour)

star-5

I have an unbridled passion for the city, especially it's historical significance of various places worth a mention. I'm well-versed in English and can get down to explaining a detailed understanding of events that actually went down at these spots. I can assure great company, awesome music and a fun time :) ********* See the remains of an old Bangalore Fort, the abandoned armoury and the summer house of the former great Mysore ruler - Tipu Sultan. Delve into the cultural side by seeing a 300 year old temple with its intricate architecture. See the lush green spaces of a park unparalled by no other built during the British Raj. Explore the various statues and memorials situated here. Take a look at some fine examples of South Indian architecture of an imposing, majestic Legislative building & the High Court. Check out what a cantonment church looked like from back in the day of the British rule. And finally, the Bangalore Palace which belonged to the Wodeyar dynasty **********

Guided Walk through Bengaluru's Ejipura Slums

Guided Walk through Bengaluru's Ejipura Slums

star-5
5
Ejipura slums is perhaps Bengaluru's largest. The challenges of poor infrastructure, unchecked development, and large scale urban migration come to focus here. Poverty and associated effects are all around. Yet, this is also a place where the human spirit triumphs over adversity. We will stop at a small business unit run by Ganesh. Disabled and orphaned at birth in the slums, Ganesh rose to establish a unit that makes up cycled paper and plastic products from discarded materials. He only employs people who are disabled like him - giving them one of the only lifelines available. We will follow it up with a stop at Greenland School. A low income private school where teachers and volunteers are working hard to improve student performance, and bring joy. We will finish at the Swabhimaan Community Center and Clinic - refuge for people from their daily struggle. A Swabhimaan volunteer will walk you through the sites. All proceeds are given back to people in the community.
